I was thinking the same thing. I found that they ask you about flares when you select a flap to be added to your cart. So I assume they have different flaps for flare or non flare. I was going to call and ask before I ordered though. I've heard that Duraflap is a very customer oriented, family run business so getting an accurate answer from them shouldn't be a problem...

Let me know if you find anything out. I'm not going to be ordering for a few more weeks.

My truck shipped on the 11th. I'm pretty sure it will take a couple of weeks to get to Dave Smith in Idaho. I'm in Utah right now and probably won't go get it until some time in September. So i am shopping early for stuff. If i learn anymore about flaps, i'll let you know.

Duraflaps on my present truck for six years. They look and function today as good as the day they were installed. I live thirty miles from the Duraflap business. When I called asking about the flaps, I was invited to bring my new truck to them. I was able to watch the flaps being cut-out and they even installed them for me. I cannot speak high enough for the flaps and the business. My next new Dodge will have Duraflaps.

I just installed the Husky Liners from GENO's - fit perfectly with my flares. The SRW guards required one hole to be drilled to add the third anchor point, but I did not have to remove the tire to do so. I recommend!

I think the Husky liners look good on a SRW, but not sure about them on the DRW... I like the look of a more traditional flap when it comes to duallys. I think the Husky protect the truck from rock rash, but don't do all that much for anything behind the truck. Longer flaps are needed when things are in tow. On my '06 I run long traditional flaps plus Rock Tamers off the hitch for double protection on the boat and 5ver. Not sure what direction I'm going with the 2011 yet. Probably not much choice but to do the same... .

BurlesonR, I agree completely with what you suggest about towing and protection, when I get my fifth wheel I will likely get a hitch mounted guard or similar to add protection.

Yeah, it's a good idea. Even with the long flaps, you need extra protection if you really want to protect what you're towing. Especially if your a DRW. I can't stand seeing rock dings in the gelcoat on my boat hull

Resurrecting a year-and-a-half-old thread. I'm interested in the "flare" question as well. I had the 20" flaps on my '04. took them off, never put them back on before I sold the truck. Now I still have them, and have a '10. Will they fit with the flares?

This setup works real well for protecting the trailer. Got this flap from Camping World for about $80, also purchased from CW a small angle iron that went across the bottom of the bumper to attach the flap. Was able to use existing holes in the bumper, so no drilling was needed. Rear flap combined with fender flaps keeps a lot of debris off the trailer.

Sorry truck is so dirty, picture was taken this past winter and after I had the truck oil undercoated.

I just got an email from them, and, if I'm not mistaken with what I was told, the flaps will fit, just different mounting holes. So, my old flaps should fit, I'll just have extra holes. No big deal for me.

RonD, have pics?

Update:

For my 2004, I had the universal dually flaps. If you look at duraflap.com it is the style #10L (style # 10 is shorter for 2WD trucks). They will fit on the newer trucks, you just have to drill the holes. The main difference, and the reason I'm going to get the model-specific, drill-less flaps for my 2010, is because there's not a lot of structural mounting surface in the new trucks due to the design of the fenders. On the older trucks, essentially you had a SRW bed with a big fender bolted on. So, how I mounted my flaps was a row of bolts to the outside of the fender, and then halfway in there was a row of bolts attached to the bed portion of the fender.

On the new trucks you don't have that part of the bed behind the wheel well liner, so I like the fact that for the new trucks, the mounting portion of the flap is taller, meaning it comes up higher and catches that third bolt on the fender flare. It also mounts with one or two bolts on the inside, to the liner.

I got an email from Duraflap, and they attached two pdf files. I attached one of them, but the other one is too large to put on here, and I'm trying to figure out how to break it down so I can post it. It has better pics of the install than what I can find on their site.

Oh, and just to clarify one of the first questions, it doesn't really matter whether you have flares or not. The pics I'm trying to put on here have a pic of one truck with flares and one without

I had the Putco on my 2003 dually and just ordered a new set for my 2012. they are NOT cheap, but nicest looking flaps on the market - universal flap is 18" x 22" and is mostly polished stainless steel -
