I had a couple of people that wanted price quotes. As I was typing a reply, my computer shut down and restarted on it's own. Somehow all the new e-mails that I hadn't replied to yet got deleted and I can't find them anywhere. If you sent me an e-mail regarding a price quote and didn't get a reply, please send it again so I can get it for you. Sorry for the inconvenience.

For the one's that have not yet installed this kit, this will not reduce the foaming affect when you hear it click off. Another words after you hear or see nozzle click off you will still have to give it short burst or clicks with the fuel nozzle withdrawn some from opening to let foam settle a few seconds to get to the point you see actual liquid fuel at the vent opening. The time to do this is drastically reduce to less than a minute (with vent-kit install) compared to 10 to 15 minutes with the stock tank setup.

I just wanted to let people know thats it's not hammer down full throttle all the way to vent opening finish line or you could have a mess. :-laf

Just a side note, I can go 125 to 130 miles and then the needle finally moves onto the (F) full mark. This afternoon I looked at mileage of little over 300 miles and fuel gauge was sitting between 1/2 to 3/4 tank fuel markings. If I was to guess say 5/8 full. This is with a guesstimate of 60% city type driving and 40% highway. Several short trips, stop lights and flow of traffic up and down on acceleration.

Can you email me the instructions? I will likely be purchasing it, I would just like to see exactly what's involved to install it.

Just finished my vent kit today-with help.

My son and I installed the vent kit today on a short bed truck and it went very smoothly with the instructions. I started the truck up afterwards and it had a DTE of zero. The tank had several gallons of fuel in it at that stage. I think that is the only scarry thing about the whole install is being brave enough to run you tank below the Walk mark on the gauge when the DTE says zero. My son and I both agreed the install wasn't too difficult other than supporting the tank for removal and reinstallation.

I forgot to mention that it took 33. 6 gallons to fill it after the mod and only took about 30 seconds to top off after the pump shut off. Bad news was $79. 00 to fill up :{

Just did mine today. I still had about 3" fuel in tank, but was able to pump 31 gallons. I was a little nervous when it went past 28g since I had never pumped more than 27g before. I was not patient enough to sit at the pump for 20 minutes and click in 4-5 gallons.

Awesome mod, easy to do! I was smiling til I looked at the digital screen on the pump that is above the gallons... $72. 00. I do know I will visit the fuel stations 1 less time every 2-3 weeks since I was filling up 2-3 times a week before (normally 25-27 gallons).

THANK YOU DAVID!!!

Just finished my vent kit today

kit is in and filled quickly and so full I was on my hands and knees trying to see if it was running out anywhere. fill ups are quick and easy now... First time I ever put 34 gallons in it.

I ran it down to DTE 0 before the vent kit and it only took 29 gal. I removed the tank (ran it down past DTE 0) and then drained 6 galions (measured). Installed the kit,,,put the 6 gal back in... drove 2 miles to the 'fuel' station and pumped in 31 additional gallons. At LEAST a 37 gallon tank, now. This was a GREAT mod!

I just install the vent kit. It was easier for me to take the fuel lines loose from the frame and let the tank down to the ground to disconect the FUEL lines. When I filled up after, the first time the nozzle clicked off, I was able to put in less than 3/4ths gal. That's close enough for me. I don't need to top off unless I'm on a trip.

Thanks David

I don't know if it will work, but my '97 filled pretty fast when I used the large truck nozzle at the truck stops. After the first click off I could fill the neck so I could see fuel in about 2 minutes or less. The mod took me abut 3-1/2 hrs by myself and I work with tools for a living. Also my hands looked like I tried to put a cat in a coffee can. If you plan on keeping your truck for a loooooooong time it would be worth a try, but, on the other hand if you plan on getting rid of the truck in a year or so, it might not. If you bought the kit, droped your tank and decided not to use it, you could probably sell the kit to a friend that had a 3rd gen truck. All you would be out is the time to drop the tank, and if it did work David would have to put on another shift to put the kits together. .

I figure mine is scaring the heck out of 40 gallons. Really, there's no change from before the vent kit, but now I save a lot of time getting the tank that full. :D :D :D

I've got my own version of the kit and returning from CO, I put in 38. 2 gallons one wintery evening just south of GF, ND. I've put in 36 a few times but now I have to fuel sooner as the local station shuts the pump off at $75. :(

Nice looking truck! Seems to me I've seen one very similar to it somewhere. ;)

Except mine's now sporting a Ranch Hand front bumper. :D

Just installed the vent kit last night. Took me about 3 hours by myself. That hardest part was just getting the tank off. Once I got the tank off the rest was easy. I would of had it done a lot faster if I had the right tools and didn't have to run the home depot twice. Ended up putting 35. 5 gallons in last night. :D:D
