when I first got my '04, it had just the TST, EZ, and Flux 1's

I run the TST on the twins 03 program, no torque. on level 9 it would smoke like CRAZY once boost hit 15psi (due to the twins program obviously) but it would take off like MAD.

I'm now running the Smarty TNT/Revo with moderate TM, wild RP, timing for stock injectors... EZ is disconnected. Smarty on SW#9...

I have to be very careful how I set the TST to prevent draining the rail. I didn't have a rail gauge on the truck before I put the Smarty on it.

I've played with the TST, and the highest setting I can run is 4 (no torque). If I lay into it below about 2000 in 5th or 2400ish in 6th I lose rail pressure.

I'd like to run around on a lower TST setting, but it pulls SO GOOD on the big end with the TST on 4, I can't bring myself to do it! the difference between 3 and 4 on the TST is very noticable.

I realize the only way to find out is to just do it, but I'm thinking about running the Smarty on a lower SW and adjusting the TST. Hoping to hit the twins with a bigger dump of fuel down low to get them spooled quicker.

My fear is that I'll lose some top end power due to losing rail pressure dumping all that fuel early.

I know another CP3 is pretty much the only way to have my cake and eat it too. Just wanting to hear some thoughts/meditations/brainstorming on the subject... I'm pretty green with this CR stuff, so if there's something I'm missing, I'd love to hear it.

Don's valvesprings should be going in next week, and I'll up the rev limit on the Smarty... give me some more time in the movin/shakin part of the powerband :D

You have pretty much hit the nail right square on the head.

If I run any tq setting at all on my TST(early twins) with hp on 2,3,4,or 5, while stacked with the Smarty(on any setting), I drain my rail early and it cannot catch up. You are right, it does spool my 62 sooner but then I sacrifice that top end puuuuullllllll.

What I run normally is Smarty 411 wild tq, aftermarket turbo / stock injector software, sw#9, EZ 2. This is what got me the numbers in my sig. Then for fun I can add TST hp up to #4 before loosing too much rp, but it gets hot 1500+.

Also by using the TST tq settings I get too much timing and it pops/bursts sometimes. (I have an old R47 TST)

at the very least, I'm glad to hear I kinda got my brain wrapped around it...

with the 6sp, it kinda stinks watching that boost needle have to crawl back up every time I shift, but the truck is still moving well for all intents.

but man, I don't thhink I've ever had a truck pull on the top end like this one does! :D :D

FWIW, you should try a set of twins, the way my truck is set up, I'm hard pressed to see 1200* at the top of 6th! (sounds like a lack of fuel problem! )

Yes, I have thought about compounds for sometime now... then a modded CP3, then head studs... then lots and lots of tuning, getting the compounds stretched out just right:-laf.

My truck performs and behaves so nice right now that I am totally satified for the moment. There are alot of more powerful trucks running around than mine, but no matter what you do, well you know. Jess

Do you have the TST with the different programs in it? If so, try running the standard program instead of the 03 twins program. The twins program brings in full fuel by 12 psi of boost, and the standard holds off on full fueling until about 24 lbs. The Smarty will spool the twins. You've about maxed out the settings, though, for the Smarty/TST stack, until you're CP3 is either upgraded, or you've added a second one. If you're getting level 4 out of the TST, you're doing good.

the Smarty doesn't spool the twins as hard at the TST did, but the Smarty charges way harder on the big end.

I do have the other programs.

and yeah, I'm pleased that I'm able to get level 4 out of the TST! I've talked with people and it seems that CP3's vary a lot from the factory as far as how far they can be taken. Some people have trouble making much more than 500hp and others are kissing 600 w/ an untouched CP3

I just got the TNT/R, so I haven't had time to play with it much, but it does seem like the beta program spooled my twins a little better. I haven't turned the Smarty all the way up, though. YET!:D

I am runnng the Smarty on #5 on the aftermarket turbo and injector program with the TST on 3/3 no timing, 24psi twins. I find it to be the best for daily driving. I ran the the 12 psi program and I would drain the rail so quick I couldn't pull over 2500 rpm. It would also dump so much smoke I was throwing money out the tail pipe. At the 24psi program drivability is much more predictable.

I do like the spooling beter on the twins prgram then the standard and when towing 10k lbs I get better MPH on the twins program then the economy with lower egt's. Go figure.

When I do want to turn it up I run out of fuel even at setting 4 on the TST. I guess I am in the same boat as you guys. I need to save another 4k for a cps.
