Sorry guys, I've been reading and digging through article after article, as well as tried to contact some of the people who have done this before. And I am still mind boggled and searching.

Does anyone have a write up for making a wiring harness for your non-sport truck to add the sport style or even projection headlights?

Or does anyone possibly have an image for the Sport model wiring diagram for the headlights?

Hoping that I can find answers through TDR, since I've only been able to find non descriptive articles and broken links to places that used to sell harnesses.

Thanks for the help.

Be aware after 98 the trucks went to grounding the lamps to turn them on(constant B+ to lamps)switched ground

Thank you for the link to your other post.

Couple of questions because my electrical skillset is very minimal; where is the switched hi relay? is that the switch off the steering console? Also Alt relay what does that stand for/mean? Are the 9004 and 9007 bulb grounds different pins? I see that 9004 is Alpha and 9007 is Bravo.

Are the relays connected directly to the battery in this setup or is there an alternate way to connect power to them? Also would it be straight power or would there be an inline fuse for them?

Bob what do you mean by switched ground.

Thank you guys.

When I did mine I used Daniel Stern stuff for my wiring. He has a kit and at least at the time he also would build it and send the complete harness. It is a top quality harness with good heavy wire, connectors and relays. I got the complete harness so it was plug and play I think the kit is just the parts sans the wire. Does not include the headlights. In any case his site has a ton of info and is worth browsing through. The kit for the sport light conversion is called rik-ram about half way down the page but definitely check the rest of the site again a lot of good light info

I called and talked with him a couple times he was very helpful.

In regards to the switched ground the headlights always have power (12v+) to them. The headlight switch uses/switches the ground to complete the circuit which turns them on and off not applying 12v+ to them as they already have 12v+ all the time. I personally never understood why they do it that way and it seems backwards but I am no electrical engineer and there must be some good reason for doing it I just don't know what it is nor do I know how widespread that practice is in other vehicles.

I also bought the complete harness from Daniel Stern. Very happy with it. I also bought the OEM Sport lights. Top notch. No issues whatsoever. I use the light bulbs he recommended and the difference from the OEM lights is actually amazing. I never expected such a big change.
