Guys, just installed the new Sport headlights---thought I would just use the 4007's until I got the dual wiring hooked up, but found out the hard way that 9004 wiring doesn't work with 9007's. So the question is do I just change out the 9007 primary that came with the new headlight for 9004 or does someone know the wiring difference for the 9007..... Or do the 9007's gain you anything--if not I'll just use the 9004's..... Hope some one has experience with this change-out... ... . R, J. B. ;)

J. B. ,

9004 bulb won't fit in the Sport lamp where the 9007 is - they have locating tabs that are different. And the filament is in the wrong position anyways.

You could plug the wiring directly to the 9004 bulb in the Sport lamps, but it probably will not provide great lighting by itself. But, it is easy to repin the connector to work with the 9007 - carefully remove the white lock on the back of the blue connector. Insert a small, flat blade into the front of the connector just below the terminal and gently pull the wire from the back of the connector. Looking from the back, a 9007 should be Low, Ground, High from left to right with the flat part of the connector facing up. Repin and test. Sorry I don't remember the 9004 wiring , but it should be easy to test.

I think you will like the results when you get them wired.

I plugged in the stock connector to the 9004 and have much better lighting than I did with the stock lights. I'm not even using the 9007's yet and don't know if I ever will!

jbone, if youre looking at the light harness (not the trucks harness) reverse the two pins on the right.

It's pretty easy to do with needle nose plyers, and the 9007's work much better afterwords.
