Finally got sick of the fogged up (and lousy to begin with) stock headlights and went with the Sport Lights and Brite Box harness from Geno's. Installation was easy, plug and play. One of the best upgrades I've done to the truck. Probably could have eBay'd and DIY'd some things to save a few bucks but the time and frustration compared to a sure thing and Geno's usual excellent customer service made it worth it to me.

If you're still contemplating this, I highly recommend it. These are so bright, the bumper-mounted Hellas are almost (almost!) obsoleted. They project a little farther but are no brighter.

While I am not JW that is pretty much the size of it. Take out old lights, put in new, plug and play the new additional harness and enjoy better lighting (I used a harness from Daniel Stern so cant speak to plug and play aspect of anyone else's but believe it is the same). IIRC it took me approx. 90 minutes start to finish and I had to drop my aftermarket bumper which you may not have to do if you have a stock bumper. Jw added the brite box which would be some minor additional time if you were going to do the same.

Yes, totally plug and play other than finding a place to mount the Brite Box. It needs to mount on a vertical surface with a moisture drain hole on the bottom. I put it on the wall behind the driver's side battery box - had to shave a little off of the battery box for that. Yes, the lights are a straight swap in terms of form factor. I think on trucks older than 98 or thereabout, there's some cutting required to make room for the extra bulb plug but on my 01 there was no issue.

The new harness uses your existing harness. Plugs into the old bulb socket and splits it into two tails so you have one for each bulb in the Sport Light set.

i really want to do this , did you just buy the lights and the harness and it worked ?

Hi turbowine,
I purchased the headlight conversion harness from firefighter_2000 and it worked perfectly. You need to read his article and make your own decision. I have a 1999 and tossed the existing Britebox for the relay removal and jumped pin 3-5.

The hardest part is setting up the new light height, so put tape on you garage marking the existing light height for low and high beams. Easiest way back to driving but not perfect as setting the high beam height may take a few attempts. I found the lights from HeadlightsDepot - Eagle Eye Brand on eBay and they are the cheapest - DODGE RAM PICK UP 1999-2002 Head lamp RAM SPORT HL SET with Bulbs!

I would advise not getting a Sport headlight conversion without fuses.

Good Luck

I think that's the same ones I have. I wired mine such that both low beams are on at the same time and all 4 are on when on high. I have never had anyone flash their lights at me. I used a harness from Summit but they no longer sell the same one. It has relays and fuses to power lights straight from the batteries. The light switch only controls the power for the relays.

I was about to order a pair of sport headlights from Amazon (sourced from Headlightsdepot) until I read the reviews. Seems like a lot of people had trouble with water leaking into the units. Geno's also sells these for about $60 more per pair. I suspect they all come out of the same Chinese factory. anyone here had leaky lights? Have not priced the Mopar units but hear they are really expensive.
On another note, I was thinking about wiring the factory fog lights thru a relay and using them for daytime running lights. Is this a bad idea?

Steve White Motors currently has them on sale.

55077025AC (Left) $165.20 discounted from $234.00
55077024AC (Right) same price
55077033AC Left park/turn lamp $88.09 discounted from $125.00
55077032AC Right - same price.

Can someone confirm if you can use the existing park/turn lamp housings. I'm guessing they're the same.
