2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Sport headlights revisited

Anyone know whether the sportlights from the Dodge 1500's (01 or older) will fit in an '02 2500? There are some on Ebay that I *think* are for the 1500's, and don't want to bid on them if they ARE for the 1500, and won't interchange with my '02 2500...

I just bought used sport lights for my '01 3500, didn't pay any mind at all to what they came out of, they fit and work great. I've never heard of different lights for the variously rated trucks.

Will the non-sport lights mount into a sport model truck? I may have a sport 1500 that I could swap mine with.

Yes. There is no difference in the physical mounts for the Sports vs. non-Sports.

The headlamp-area sheet metal is the same on all Rams 2000-2002, Sport & non-Sport. The only cutting involves clearance for the inboard bulb base on 94-99 Rams if installing Sport lamps.

Your signature shows a 2002 Ram 2500. If that's the destination of the Sport lamps, no problem. I transplanted Sport lamps into my model year 2000 Ram 2500 - no sheet metal work.

Hey Guys,

Anybody have part numbers for the sport headlamp assemblies. Advice on where to get a better price?

Thanks JJ

Thanks Thomas,

Found some other links and Ordered from importvision.

Can't wait.

Same outfit I bought mine from on Ebay - $218, including bulbs... Now I gotta order a wiring kit to save the headlight switch from an early grave... Oo.

I ordered from Importvision too and got them quickly. Paid $211 and was surprised to get them with bulbs already in them. Come with the clear corner lenses too. Quality units overall.

Installed yours yet - and if so, how do you like them? Quality at least as good as OEM?

Nope, not installed yet, been too busy :(

Quality is every bit as good as OEM, at least in terms of materials and construction (can't speak for light pattern engineering)

I've found one area that's not every bit as good. Plan on reusing the OEM Headlamp To Grille Welt. Don't waste your time using the imported rubber. I tossed the OEM welts at Sport lamp transplant and ended up at the Mopar counter in less than six months purchasing:

P/N 55076746 WELT, Headlamp To Grille - Right

P/N 55076747 WELT, Headlamp To Grille - Left
