Sport Lights...I give up!!

OK... I've looked thru all my "favorites" and I can't find the site that had the low-dollar-deal on sport lights... .



Any ideas??

There are no sportlights in the US at the moment. . they are all backordered or something. Get ahold of Xavier, his buddy buddy has them for $200 a pair!!

Xavier's buddy is in the same boat as everyone else. . . cannot get them. He is still holding onto a check for me that I sent a couple weeks ago in hopes something will come through, but so far no luck.

Does anyone know if these are the same or better as OEM?



I called headlightwarehouse last friday but they could not give me much info except that they would not fit my '98 SLT. It was my understanding that these could fit with some (MINOR?) sheet metal cutting . Does this sound right to any of you that have already made the switch or have more info than I do?



Any further info would be greatly appreciated.

The 98-99 trucks can take the later Sport lites, but you gotta do a little hackin' an a hewin' at the radiator support/headlight area... The bigger issue is a harness... there are a few different ways to approach that... They are brighter, really brighter if you wire both beams to come on at the same time... The Sport lights that are available from time to time seem to be OEM. . this is from other members that have been able to pick them up...

How much hacking is required on the 97?

For lack of a better description (pictures would be great) it's about a 5"x4" piece of sheetmetal out of each side.

Where the hole is already there for your existing lights, you have to lenghthen it towards the radiator this amount.

Well, it looks like the Sport lights are going to be available around the 10th... I also found a guy that makes the harness for the single bulb setup to the Sport lights dual bulbs...



Any other ideas on the wiring?

Do the USA trucks come with daytime runners or is this just a Canadian thing. Cause I'm wondering about the wiring also. I plan to use the existing leads to activate relays for the 2 bulb sports. I'm gonna wire it so all bulbs work on H/L. If you have the lights a guy may as well use them right?. My only problem is the daytime runners activating the relays (although I always drive with lights on). Any one have any input with this?

THEY HAVE ARRIVED

For those concerned , I received my sport lights yesterday,04/09/02 from headlightwarehouse.com.



They look good have all bulbs except directionals.
