Sport model winter guards?

What year did the sport model start? I am looking for a pattern for the sport model inserts so I can make a winter guard for the rest of you that have sport models. All I can find on sport models starts 99-2000 - 01?



If I can get enough interest in this, I will make the sport model winter guard for the same price as the other set you have seen on this forum. I can get the pattern as early as next week then make a few sets.

I will take orders on E-mail put on a list then report when the items are ready.

Hope there's no lack of interest

I'm interested, I just don't have the definitive answer for you as to when the sport models started. I would have thought they came out even before '99 though.

Guess I'll have to buy the JC witney guards for the pattern to make the sport guards. I imagine that the sport has the bottom holes the same but flipped as the top but smaller... ... ... .

I will let you all know when I have the sets available, meanwhile I will be taking names down for a list of interested buyers.

The sport model originally came out in 94 but, it was the same grille as a regular model. It was just painted body color versus chrome. The sport grille did change drastically from 99 on, from the non sport model. From 99 on the actual grille mesh is set back further in the grille shell and has a different shape to it altogether. By the way, i AM looking for a winter grille cover for it. I do not like the look of that big vinyl cover over the grille, sign me up.....

Have the pattern coming right now so maybe in a week or 2. The shape and materials will be about the same so expect $25 total includ shipping for these. Glad I could fill a need in a model that ususaly gets left out... .....
