2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Sport package

just wondering as I cant seem to find this



when was the sport package first available?



the earliest Ive ever seen in my experience was 97 is that right?



can an earlier 2nd gen like a 94-95 change to a sport?

the 97-98 are interchangable with 94-98 the 99-02 sports are interchangable with any 94-02 I think. just a matter of bolting the grill and bumper on.



I did a swap on my 01 It was a SLT and now is a "Sport"



painted taillights, bumpers, "sport badge" on the cab

i think some trucks may need a little metal cut out behind the headlights to fit in the sport lights with their twin bulbs

The Sport option arrived model year 1999.

The 94-98 trucks need the removal of metal to get the sport headlights in. I just did the conversion on my truck and it was pretty straight forward.

The Sport option arrived model year 1999.

but my truck is a 1998 and it is the sport package. it even says sport package on the original window sticker.

The sport option came in on 97 models, they had the same grill, bumpers as the SLT models BUT the SPORTs came with painted grille, front bumper, rear bumper, tail lights, and "SPORT decal on the back of the box (shown in pic)



the 99-02 SPORTs came with... . (painted like previous sports) oversized grille, front bumper with offset foglights and indent for larger grille, and the "SPORT" decal is on the hood. ALSO the badges on the side of the truck arnt the 3D "RAM2500" they are stickers. (shown in pic)

The 01. 5 and 02 Sports don't have the door RAM stickers or the hood Sport sticker. They came with the 3D plastic RAM on the door, and a small plastic Sport badge on the C pillar just behind the quad cab quarter window. See my readers rig for a pic.



I don't know if earlier MY01's came with the stickers or not. I know the earlier years did.
