2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission "Sport" style headlights

I will be getting some of the clear headlights like the Ram Sport models have. Mine is a non-sport model and there seem to be a lot of those headlights available now. Does anyone have a recommendation for where to go for these? (the clear, Sport type headlights).

Try LMC, the first link is to the sport lights and the second is for a euro clear lense that would fit without rewiring your headlights as the sport lights require.

I have to say from what I have seen the off shore brands are not the same quality as the oems. As we watch the world trade balance go nuts I would spend the extra bucks to support America. If you don't want to redo wiring you can still use the factory bulb and socket in the sport light,you will just be short changing your output.

I do not know where LMC gets their parts from but if you wanted to check them out that would be a good question to ask where they come from. I wonder if their sport lights are the same as the factory or knock offs. Bob is right in that if they are bad quality then they might end up turning yellow on you or melting.

Off shore brands and cheap knock-offs concern me also so, where do you get an OEM Sport Light..... junk yard, dealer or where?. I'd like to do the Sport conversion but am holding off till the quality thing can be found in an off shore/ebay item or just go OEM.



Just using an off shore brand cost around $600 (Very pricey in my mind) if buying a relay conversion harness with it, so what will OEM cost?

and it came with the bulbs and rubber gasket strips

That comes to $332 + $153= $485 total (not $600... my bad) but still pricey.



So, "2brokrtosmoke" what dealer did you get those sports lights from for $135 each and do you have a PN and year of vehicle you used for ordering? I'd rather get the OEM sport lights if not too pricey.

I've done this conversion on my '96 3500. It is VERY worthwhile.
I used the SUVlights conversion harness, they took a long time to ship but it's worth the wait. The harness has 4 relays, and lights up both the 9004 & 9007 for high beam, and both for low beam. It's lots of light and not much glare.

A major advantage of the relay'ed harness, is that it takes the current load off your headlight switch. The stock headlight switch is not up to running all 4 bulbs at once, it will self destruct. Ask me how I know.

You have to cut out the inside of your headlight buckets for clearance on the 2nd bulb socket. Use an air operated sawzall to cut like the pictures attached.

You will be very happy with the results!

I just purchased and installed ANZO headlights for my 2001 from Geno's Garage. They were just over 200. Easy to install and still much brighter than stock. My stock headlamps had yellowed and the driver side had a major leak in it. I am running Sylvania SilverStars in place of the bulbs that came with the lights.

So far I am very happy. The road is bright again.

You can also use a hole saw for bulb/socket clearance. Example 3. 5 in. Real easy.

I just installed the sport lights in my truck with the suvlight harness, it is much brighter, I did not have to cut anything there was an oval hole behind the stock light already.

I don't know exactly which year Dodge started the Sport Light option. But I think all trucks produced from that point onward have inner fender clearance for the Sport Lights.
