Sportjet ?????

I hope I can ask this here as the "Other" page is gone - but does anybody have any experience with the mercury 175HP Sportjet? I'm looking at maybe getting a Thunder Jet 19' Envoy with this motor option http://www.thunderjet.com/. I want a smaller boat that I can take in tight places and doesn't weigh a lot.

Jets are great for shallow water. Get the power trim so you can spray people . Instant reverse is nice too. Only downside is they cost ya about 15-20hp over a prop.

Merc Sportjet 210hp

Hammersley,

We are building two boats to take to Alaska moose hunting this year. Both are going to have the sportjet 210hp motors in them. The guy we are getting them from has run a Alumaweld boat (19') to 56 mph @ about 3000' elevation. He said the fuel consumption rate should be around 4-5 gallons/hour at half throttle.
