spot welds under hood hinges crkd

Spot welds crkd under hood hinges on vertical "t" on my 99 ram 2500, squeak related, under dash sb 231900 completed, still squeaks. I have looked under 5 hoods, all diesels, all crkd. Years are 95 thru 2000 30k miles or more. Dodge hasn't told us what they will do under warranty. WE evaluation from Dodge REP. SB231900 calls out lok at welds but no fix is mentioned.
