I have the do-it yourself bed liner from the local auto parts store. I must say that the biggest pain is making sure that you have EVERY square inch of the bed or the liner will NOT stick and you will have to keep reapplying the liner. (believe me, I'm Speaking from experience) But as long as you get the liner REALLY thick and make sure that everything is sanded properly, then you will not have any problems.

I have the Rhino Linining in my truck, and my brother sprayed his on himself. His is no where near as thick as mine is. His job was much cheaper, but I'm glad I spent the extra money. I'm satisfied with it so far (about 3 years). Good luck, whichever way you go. .

There is no way the do-it yourself liners will be as thick as a good spayed on one. The guy that sprayed on my rhino used almost 5 gallons in the bed. One word of caution on any sprayed liner, do your homework and look at several trucks that the shop has already done to check thier work. I have seen many liners that i would be ashamed to be seen with. You will be happier with a spayed liner , just do your homework. Sorry to ramble.

I have the Rhino Linings in mine and I can't say enough good things about it. None of the others are anywhere near as thick, nor do they have the same quality of texture as the Rhino. And after four years of abuse, mine still cleans up and shines like new with soap and water. No chips at all.

I had Rhino lining in my '97 360 and loved it. holds up really well under all kinds of use.

Keep the shiny side up!

Do a search on bed liners, you will see that it depends on the installer as to how well the job is done. There have been many complaints for many brands because the bed was improperly preped ( coating peels off ) and poor spray jobs, thin coating, lace curtains ( runs in the material ) and big gobs, etc. Just about any brand will be ok as long as the franchisee, spelled independant contractor, does what you are paying for and not cutting corners to rip you off to pay off his gambling debdts so as not to get a broken arm or arrears child support so he wont go tho jail this week. I have seen a Rhino liner that was gobbed, run, thick and thin and peeling to boot that was 3 weeks old and they told the guy T S, he got what he paid for. He took his warranty to another Rhino shop and they said they would respray the coating but he would have to pay the labor to remove the old stuff and properly prep the bed. Rhino would stand behind the material just not the other dealers labor and prep work. Pick your installer carefully.

I do not like Rino Liners because:
1. After time it will look chalky
2. You will have to go back to them and pay to make it look shiny
3. It will look bad again after a while.
4. PITA
5. Thats alot of money for somehting that will not look good for years.

Go with a liner with built-in UV protector.

I had Rhino in my 95 short box 360 4x4. Held up well no matter how much I freighted it down. I have since traded up to my current truck. This one now has a Linex spray in liner. I personally would not get the spray yerself stuff. Either one, Rhino or Linex has a lifetime warranty. Spray yerself does too, if you do it wrong or something goes wrong in your lifetime, you can fix it... #ad

I've got a Buddy that "did it himself" and followed all the instructions. The finished product is the worst POS I have ever seen. It's comming off in globs -and when he touches it up - the color is different. The $200 he saved caust him $600 when he traded his truck in for a newer one. Don't do it yourself!

If you are going to keep your truck for any length of time spend the money and get a Rhino,it's the only way to go. It's everything shy of bullet proof. I've got Rhino in all three of my trucks and love it. I've had other brands that were harder and but they wouldn't flex with impact and would crack and begin to peel. The 92 Toyota I recently got rid of was used in a business. I used to throw waste lumber in the bed with screws and nail sticking out of 2x4's and 2x6's and sheets of plywood and never had any damage to the Rhino. I know the people in Alaska have their own web page. Another thing is,just like anything, the product is only as good as the people who are appling it. If the bed isn't preped well it will peel.

Since I haven't seen it mentioned yet, I'll bring it up. Look at Line-X while you are at it. I did alot of homework before deciding Line-X was the way to go. Love mine so far. However, as someone previously mentioned... . check out the shop doing the work well before letting them do yours. Even Line-X looks like crud if applied improperly. Ask for references or do like I did and look at the vehicles parked outside the business for customer pickup. I guarantee yours will look about the same #ad
Good luck!
