I have always used Line-X. I am now almost ready to have another liner sprayed. I called the dealer that used to do a great Line-X Job. He no longer does Line-X, but now uses ONYX. He says its a much better product. I Googled Onyx Liners and got no hits. DOes anyone have experience good or bad with Onyx Spray in Bed Liners. Are they really better that Line-X. I have seen some Rhino Jobs doen in the area and am not impressed with the quality.

I'm a LINE-X dealer.

Never heard of "Onyx" and this former LINE-X dealer probably lost his franchise for some reason.

When you shop around, remember:

1. LINE-X is the only brand with a written nationwide lifetime warranty.

2. You don't have to put up with fading anymore. Check out LINE-X Xtra on my site: www.linexfortworthtexas.com

3. LINE-X is a blend of polyurethane and polyurea. Both polyurethane and polyurea give the bedliner desirable properties. For example, polyurethane has 2 to 3 times the abrasion resistance of polyurea and has superior adhesion properties. Polyurea, gives the liner a higher temperature tolerance and MUCH tear strength.

Good luck!

I can sure tell you that I much prefer the LineX finish on my truck over anything I have seen. For example, I can load heavy appliances with metal feet and they actually slide instead of bind.

DFriedson;

Thanks for your reply. I am sold on Line-X, its on my restored Power Wagons and 03 Ram. I agree, he either lost his franchise or found a way to buy something and make more money. He claims Onyx uses the same equipment he used for Line-X. Yahoo, Google, nothing turns up any info on Oynx. I have a Line-X dealer about 90 miles from me in Albany, NY. I will have him shoot my next bed.

bedliners

I don't wish to start any arguments, But I am a Vortex Spray on Liner dealer on the east end of Long Island. While Vortex does not receive the exposure that Rhino And Linex do, It is of comparable quality and price. I am sure if you google Vortex you will find A dealer in your area. Give us a chance you wont regret i

I have had Rino, LineX , and now have Speedliner of all3 speedliner is the best by far comes in 20 different colors diesel or gasoline does not effect it. can be sprayed smooth as silk or rough as a cob.

It is a cold fusion not hot like the others and guaranteed life time not to fade chip or peel.

Rino and lineX both peeled and faded.

"I can load heavy appliances with metal feet and they actually slide instead of bind. "

That is the main reason a went with Rhino over Linex, I want the bind.

Line X Fading

I read the warranty link you posted and did not see any mention of covering fading. Does the warranty cover Line-X fading? I'm about to get Line-X sprayed in my 2006 CTD truck and the Line-X dealer says the spray will eventually fade and is not covered under warranty.

In my wife's 2004 CTD, I had the Armour spray liner put in it and it has chipped and faded. The dealer will fix the chips for free, but will charge $100 to respray the bed with some chemical that will make it shine like new again.

I think all of the liners I've seen, no matter who makes them, has faded within three years if it's exposed to the weather.

Only through this web site with TDR members telling of their own experiences can we as a group make an informed decision of where to spend our hard earned bucks.

Thanks for contributing.

Thats odd. . Ihad speedliner in my 04. 5 and it sucked. I had to have them fix it 3 different times and when I got rid of the truck, the tailgate was peeling AGAIN!!!! The linex is doing way better than my old speedliner. Course a product is only as good as its installer. LineX can be sprayed really course or smooth. When they spray it, its actually really smooth and they "dust" the bed with the liner to give it texture.

When I got my linex in, they said when it fades, go to a DIY car washes and use a degreaser with the pressure washer. Said it should bring the shine right back.

I wound up with a Line-X & it's holding up great. We have a local company that does speed liner & after talking to several people here at work that have it, they all wish they would've done the line x

Had line-x done in the first 100 miles. Went back to see about doing the rocker panels due to chips in paint from dirt roads. It costs more to do the panels than the bed.

Its not the material that fails. Its the process of installation. If the truck is not prepped right the liner will fail. As a Vortex Sprayliner Installer we pride our selves on proper prep and installation.

I have a LINE-X and I'm pretty happy with it. However, I did manage to tear a dime sized spot in it while loading a snowmobile in the back. Do they warranty that kind of stuff? I was under the impression that Line-x was dang near bullet proof.

liner

Will any of these liners help keep the temperature of the bed down? In summertime, if I don't continuosly splash water in the bed, it gets so hot that my 110lb Alaskan Malamute insists on A: jumping into the cab or B; Jumping out of the truck!

Yes... they should warranty it.

Yes, the temp difference is big. Just look at a truck in the parking lot when its out in the sun. . Feel the paint, then the liner. My black truck in Tx 100* weather, the paint gets hot at *#$&%. Id be willing to lay down in the back of my truck bed with the liner.

Here is a question for ya ... does Line-X make an Under Truck spray? That would be BIG NEWS for us rust belt people.

I am watching my '97 slowly disentagrate before my eyes. Soon I'll have to replace the front fenders then the bed.

A Line-X type spray covering under the truck would be well worth the $$$$.
