Agreed on the above statement. And while I do not have experience with any spray- in liner, I will have to default to opinions of those who have. I guess it depends on what type of use your bed will have to take. I mostly use my truck for recreation and the occasional lumber yard trip. I have a topper on mine and to me the fine sprayed on looks of the the professional installs in not critical for me. For my needs the Hercu- Liner is suitable to the truck and my pocketbook. I initially did one coat and will probably do a re- coat in another 3-4 years if needed. Not discounting what other have said, but this method works great for me.

Scheibins, what do you mean by too hard? Will it chip, is it too slick? Just wondering, a friend offered the spray in rhino for $250, your comment makes me wonder.

99guy,

Been off line off awhile for a while, but wanted to comment.

The Rhino I had experience with was in a work truck in '94. I think thats when the spray in liners started becoming popular. This liner material seemed too hard. Tool boxes would slide across it and it started to chip while I was still working out of that truck. It was thick about 3/16 to a 1/4" thick and wasn't acting like it was due to bad prep. The little spots where it was chipped you could see where they had scratched (preped) the bed.

That being said, it sounds like everyone above who commented on Rhino had good things to say about it. I image they have either changed their compound or that truck bed was just sprayed on friday at 5. I'd be tempted to try it again for $250.

While I prefer the Line-X, I'd jump all over a $250 Rhino for my pull truck.

Rhino tends to be softer than Line-X, but I've heard that Rhino has changed the formulation a few times. And I've seen older Rhino scratched to heck.

I'm Line-X'ing the red truck soon and would put a Rhino in the green truck if I could get it for $250!

Go line-x if you want your cargo to stay put. I did a roll on liner a few years ago on my old truck (herculiner) and it turned out ok. I also did it on my bro-in-laws truck and it looks like ****. I think it was to cold out even though we applied it in the garage. It did not set fast enough and ran. Make sure it is warm enough 60

+ if you do end up deciding on a roll on liner.
