Looking to quiet the cab down a little, and hopefully tighten up the stereo sound. Went and talked to stereo shop and he priced me on 2. 5 gallons of Dynomat spray in sound insulation that comes with the gun to hook up to an air compressor. Priced me at $150 and I trust him when he told me that was a good price. Noticed the other day that some undercoating I had laying around the garage claimed to deaden sound and road noise. Any opinions on the Dynomat spray? Should I spend the extra money on the Dynomat or try and get out the "cheap" way? Or should I forget the spray and get some 1/2" foam insulation? Looking to do basically the WHOLE cab and do it right the first time.

Am unsure how the spray sound deadener will act, but spray undercoat I have used on the underside and firewall of the cab does seem to loose some of it's qualities during cooler weather.

As soon as my door panel tool arrives I plan on spraying the doors myself, will let you know how it goes if interested?

I like the spray as it is soooo easy.

3M makes a product, I think it's called "Body shutz", often used around rocker panels and such to protect from rocks. I have never seen it used as a spray deadener, but suspect it would be great. Price for 2. 5 gallons ???

Different product, same idea...

I used 'Noise Killer' on my cab and it did reduce noise. As far as I could tell, it was about the same stuff as the Dynamat product. About the same price too, a little less at $48 a gallon. I opted to roll it on and that turned out okay. Two coats on floor, sidewalls and back wall of club cab, and inside of door panels took about 1. 75 gallons. I did a layer of GSI Soundstop foam on top of that and, together, it's a good combo. I would advise using the acoustic products over the undercoating if noise reduction is your goal.
