Spray on bedliner

anyone have one of these? i kinda like em except that the the plastic one i have is nice to slide things in. the spray on stuff doesn't look like it will slide too easily. thanks. scott.

Sure do. Did the 95 with the Rhino & did the 96 with Diamond Liners. They prep the bed by grinding off paint, so that it'll adhere well. I haven't had a problem yet.

I've got the Rhino liner and it is holding up well. It is a little soft and you can take out chunks if you take a shovel or something with a sharp edge. The dealer will "patch" up areas that need to be filled due to rubbing. I had hauled front axle and leaf spring in the bed of the truck for a few weeks and it rubbed a spot to the metal from the friction.



I think the spray on liners all pretty all much the same in the way they protect the bed. The most important thing is how it is applied. Rhino liner warranty is only good from the dealer who sprayed your truck. Just be sure to see their work before you let them spray.

For the reasons that Charles stated is exactly why I got Line-X instead of the Rhino. I had the Rhino on my 94 1500 ram and it was way too soft and rubber like, and gouged easily. I've had the Line-X in my current rig for almost three years. Only know do I have a couple of small nicks- of which will be repaired under the lifetime warranty . I was doing a good deal of residential remodeling and have often hauled (and dumped into the bed) several thousand pounds of concrete- no chipping or rubbing through. Charles is right about the installation- ANY of the spray ins are only as good as the application. Check the installer carefully and ask to see his work!!

Shendren, I also have the Rhino spray on liner (6 years) and have no complaints. You are correct about things not sliding on it as compared to a plastic liner.

I've got a spray-in done by a company here in Phx that uses their own brand. I love it. It is some of the best money I've spent on my truck so far.

Line-X

I've had the Line-X brand bed liner in my truck for almost 4 years now (first bomb) and it's been great. I do know that the Rhino liner is thicker than the Line-X and it's also not as tacky as the Rhino liner so stuff slides a little better on the Line-X. The other guys are right to, make sure you look at a truck the shop has done to see if they did a good install on the liner or not. On my truck I had it sprayed below the bed rails but the shop that did the install goes down behind your tail gate and sprays and also goes up over the front of the bed to. Make sure that they spray behind the tail gate because we all know that's were everything alway ends up when you sweep out the bed.

As stated before, the tectures vary, so look at some in trucks and choose the best one.

One of the reasons I bought the Line-X is because it goes on hot, but cools in a few seconds, and doesn't sag or puddle to the low shots like the Rhino liner. I can't say I've ever actually heard of anyone with the Rhino complaining about it though.



As mentioned before, it's the installation that is important. Have it done by someone who's done a lot of them.
