Whitmore,

I agree with Briar Hopper. Go with the Perma-Liner . I've been looking into this for some time now, and they are the only ones that I have found that address the UV problem from the start. The problem that I see with the sealant idea, is as you drag things in and out of your bed a few times, there goes the sealer.

They also seem to have the best prices. The one in Denver quoted $398. 00 for a short bed. They also have the oh so needed glow in the dark option.

There is also a dealer in Montana. Sorry, I forgot where Shoshoni is, so I don't know which is closer.

Have you been to the Perma-Tech dealer here in Denver?? What is your opinion on thier quality of work? I have 2 trucks to get sprayed and have always put it off due to trying to figure out which brand will fade the least. I've figured give the industry enough time and eventually someone would come out with a liner which would NOT fade over time.

Even with UV protectant, Red really fades...

We went with a product called Toro Bed Liner. It’s a spray-in bed liner that was supposed to be a later formulation that has an UV protectant in it, not on it. It is thick and pliable. Anyway, to make a long story shorter, it faded badly in about a year. I had the red applied. It was gorgeous and matched the Flame Red almost perfectly. Now that it’s faded, and I gouged the liner in a few placed with the camper, it doesn’t look so good. I will get it re-done, but in the mean time, I put a Leer Bed Cover on it. Now it looks better than it did with an open bed. Now all we need is some kind of mat to put down before we load the camper.

Tuff,

Yes, I've been there. It's a tiny little shop that's easy to miss. They are @ 6125 E. 56th Ave. Unit A. That's between Qubec and Holly on 56th, North of I-270. Phone # 303-288-2912. Map Quest

The day I went to the shop, they had a truck sitting outside that was waiting for the owner. The lines were every straight (oever the rail job), no over spray, the hardware in the bed was straight. It looked top notch to me. This is the only thing they do. They spray it on any and everything that people bring in.

They also took the time to talk trucks while I was there and seemed pretty knowledgeable about the Cummins as well as Fords etc.

I called over there this morning to see if the prices were still good. I typed it wrong before (sorry  ). It is $385 for a short bed, +$45 for over the rail for the black. I didn't ask about colors.

Let me know if you get yours done. I'm going as soon as I get some time when I can not have the truck for a day.

When I had rhino-lining done the dealer told me that I could buy their stuff in the bottle or use a creamy, liquid wax. (no paste) I use Meguir's Gold Class on the truck and in the bed.

Works great for me, you just have to be careful for a few days.

I also found out that when they fix cuts or dings, the just superglue the piece back down.

Superglue?  With Perma-Tech, and the lifetime guarantee, it's fixed right. Fresh material is poured or sprayed to fix cuts and gouges. The finished repair is usually impossible to detect.

It's one of the toughest and best-looking polyurethane compositions I've ever seen. Perma-Tech is concentrating on the industrial coatings market right now, more so than trucks, but their truck work is backed to the hiltm, at every shop.

Well I've been very happy with my Rhino lining. It hasn't faded and it's exposed 24 hours a day...

I'm really not sure how it could fade being black.

As for keeping it clean, that's another story. It' does look dirty often... . dirt seems to cling to it, but then again I've never bothered to scrub it clean, just hose it out.

Someone mentioned a protection for it? Wax? What about something like Armor All? That would probably be slippery...

Any suggestions?

I've had the Rhinolining in my truck for about 4 1/2 years. It is very faded, and has some gouges in it to the metal. I tried Armorall on the tailgate. It brings it back somewhat, not like new, but it does make it very slippery. I will try to get back to the dealer someday and see how good the lifetime warranty is.
