Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Spread the frame or not to spread it....

My truck didn't agree with that at all. Pound it straight up and move it back 6 inches. It did NOT drop. I had to pound it down with an 8 pound hammer. I found a little screw jack at a 2nd hand store for $5. It has a 1/2" square drive so a ratchet works it just fine. I made a bar out of a junk bumper jack. I welded some brackets on it to fit the frame so it's easy to put in place for one guy. Then the little jack spreads the frame just a little so the cross member is easy to get out.
