Real Men Are Back

A fun site for the kids in us..

Do any of you guys out there use a spreadsheet to note all your updates and maintenance to your truck? I would like to start one for mine, but am at a loss as to where to start. Does anyone have a sample that they are willing to share with me. Thanks

Hey Ron!

Check out www.kjon.com. This program is free for use with up to three vehicles. I downloaded it a few days ago but have not used it yet. There was some discussion here a while back about maintenance record keeping and this program was one that was recommended.

Hope this helps!

KJON Vehicle Record System

Been using the aforementioned program for about 3 years. I tried it,then paid the shareware fee... back then.

Someplaces it seems just a little cumbersome, but it sure does the job. IMHO

Ron,

I started a thread some time ago to see what folks used. I used a shareware DOS program that I could never register, since the programer went out of business or moved or something... .

I've been looking at whats out there. The one mentioned above is not one I came across while looking.

is the thread that I had started... .

I've tried a few time locked trial programs. .

Auto Care Center

Auto Maintenance Pro 8. 0

Auto-Do-It

Auto Wolf

I liked Auto-do-it & Auto Maintenance Pro

All that I tried took a bit of getting used to. The two I mentioned I like the best because they were the most versitale and the reports were better. Auto-do-it has a TSR reminder/warning thats the best out of them all. After using it for the time alotted I found that there were some things I was lulled into in the software, that are minor issues... and need to be handled a certain way... like if you do a bunch of preventive scheduled work and you go to log it in... . the software will want to log it in all at once if you use the work orders, as one work order that lists all the things you did... easy to do - saves time, but later harder to track by browsing the software. Say you wanted to just list all oil changes... not as easy todo since the oil change may have been one of 13 things you did in that one work order and logged in.

Auto Maintenance Pro 8. 0 wont let you do that, you have to log each task in as done, not by work order. . the thing is that Auto-do-it is made for a fleet... and Auto Maintenance Pro isnt really.

But you can not use the work orders, or just delete them and enter in each task you did seperatly.

But Auto-Do-It can do anything, doesnt have to be a car or truck and it has the best warning system that runs in the systray of your computer.

So in the end out of the ones I tried, I like Auto-do-it...

If your interested I can dig links out for any of them for you...

and you can download the trials and play.

For more and other detail you can email me directly...
