Upstate NY Wrench Day!

Upstate Bombers is a TDR Chapter!

Andy,

Is there a sign up log for which Dyno day folks want to spin the drum on, like in the past? Maybe I've missed it somewhere?

You didn't miss it. We're going to use the tee time system we used at Fall Brawl. Just sign up for your time when you get there, and make sure your ready when your time comes up.

Thanks, was unable to make the brawl so not familiar with "Tee Time System" and since I'm not a golfer I'm in the dark. No biggie, Kelly went to the brawl he can explain for me. C U all thereOo.

... and dually owners must remove the outside wheels to help keep the show rolling. Also for the dually owners if you would prefer to dyno with a set of 2500 wheels(singles) some of the guys may be able to bring their extras for you to borrow. ...

On this note, if someone wants to buy the OEM steel/chrome wheels from my '98 (4 w/60K miles plus never-used spare) after they've been used on dynoing duallies, I could be talked into attending. There's tread left on them, but not much. They'd be good for burnout competitions, though. :D

Now there's an idea for a dyno competition: dynoing duallies on dueling dynos.

I'll be there saturday on the dyno. Its going to look funny but i'm going to run 245 tires on my truck to see if I make any extra hp for pulling this year. So i'll have 315's on the front and 245's on the rear when i pull onto the dyno. .

My father and I are putting gauges in his 93 as i typeOo.

He said he wants them in before this weekend B/C last year when dave did his KDP and tweaked the VE a bit, dave told him he wouldnt do anymore because he does not have gauges :-laf

So hes itching for some more towing power, Is dave going to be around to play with some first Gens that he loves so much???

Looks like the weather may be a tad questionable for the weekends festivities. So I will ask that everyone please be considerate when entering and leaving the grassy hill as it will be soft.

Also,

If it does rain this shows will happen anyway and we will dyno until finished. However,if it does rain we will ask that those owners who dyno please run the trucks down the road and back to ensure some of the mud is removed from the tire treads. We have done this before and it worked out well and we appreciate the co-operation from everyone.

IF your going to be using the shop for work we also ask that you dyno sometime during the weekend as its the least you can do. Remeber to please bring something along to be cooked or eat and/or some drinks,as we have some left from the fall but not near enough to feed a big crowd.

Look forward to seeing everyone again and lets all hope for good weather... ... . Andy

Joe Mc...

The Tee-Time setup just means you will be assigned a time to dyno and give you a chance to know who your behind. This way its up to you to keep abreast of where you stand for lining up and helps keeps us from having to chase guys down to dyno.

Picaso...

As far as I know Dave will be there,HOWEVER,with my permanent removal from the diesel board where he is located at,I can not answer for sure. I want to see that new turbo you just bought on Dad's new truck,LOL.

Signal73. .

Hope you can make it for Sunday at least.

I will also have a set of smaller tires on steel wheels along for those who want to use them,245/75R16's. I need to settle a bet with someone on the difference's between the 245's and 285's. I lost the last time I made a bet with him and hope I can redeem myself this time,doooh... ... Andy

Actually the weather isn't looking too shabby for the rest of the week into the weekend. Some chances of showers here and there and nice temps.

The 285's are bigger. How could you lose a bet like that?:D

Hes lucky he can spool the stocker:-laf

I just installed a new external wastegate with my rebuilt turbo,(
i use to run it wthout one) so i still have some tuneing to do for this weekend

And the big kicker is that i was out testing the WG yesturday and it seems like one of my injectors is sticking or something.
so if i do run it on the rollers this weekend it will be with the "Small sticks:-laf"

Well Jim...

There is this guy out in Missouri who has a shop and we all know him and love him,LOL. After last years run he told me that the tires would make a huge difference in how the truck dyno's,I explained that we did that test already and other than swinging the numbers on the sheet higher into the rpm band, the max values remained the same. That day 265's,285's and 315's were tested on back to back runs and the truck made the same power, but at different times in the runs. The taller the tire the later the power was made and thats what I based my comment on last year. So after loosing the exhaust sizing bet I am trying to redeem myself on this one, but,I will probably once again eat crow.

Picaso...

Being a little hard on your Dad's first genner aren't you?. After all, once the wizard gets his hands in it he may need that FI charger. Little sticks, come on now,you will never out smoke Jason's old puller,EVER. . LOL

BTW,who me cause trouble??????. Remember, you were the guy who stuck the coolada in my hitch, not me... . Andy
