anyone in central ct?

Well I'll ramble a bit now and try not to bore anyone.....

The day was about as perfect as one could have ever wanted. Bright sunshine,70 degree temps,no clouds brought forth a very large turnout of amazing looking rides with one for almost anyone to admire. While walking about(yes,I did get outside this time and I'll fill you all in later here about that)I was amazed at how many trucks were on hand and how their respective owners had them detailed and ready to shine on a nice day like we had. As I rambled about I counted 130+/- on hand with many owners coming and going all day long. By far its our clubs best single day turnout by a longshot. Ernie's field was full from top to bottom with very little parking room left. Lots of tires were heard screaming in pain while the owners mashed the loud pedal and their turbos begged for mercy. It was easy to tell they were going to shake thier winter blues off and the tires took the brunt of their frustrations,LOL.

Some words of praise need to be handed out to those who make our shows go off without a hitch. The ENTIRE Kauffman Motorsports crew work hard to make these shows go off without a hitch. NOTHING could be done with Ernie,Nancy and their entire staffs quality of work and their dedication to making us feel welcome each time we come in. Many times when I sit with Ernie he comments about how organized we all are and how the shows go off without a hitch but most of that is attributed to a fine business like theirs. I was the initial bad influence on them way way back and too see what these shows have become now simply amazes me. With the size of this show now we may have to make it two days next year to allow all to participate who desire too. THANKS Kauffman Motorsports on a job WELL DONE!!!!!!

Two other hard working vendors need to be thanked as they spent the entire day answering the many questions we had and/or selling parts/services. Zimmies Automotive(Dale Zimmerrman) and Fluiddampr(Lynn Livermore-Dan Oddy) representatives were kept busy all day by us and enjoyed their time there. Both vendors deidecation to our show and club is greatly apprecated and we look forward to being able to help them when they need it. Lynn and Dan from Fluidampr gave me a idea for the Fall Brawl show so after the trucks spin others will be able to tell when they are outside which truck it was that did what. THANKS To BOTH Zimmie's Automotive and Fluidampr for their help and expertise.

Jetpilot and his PDW warehouse were kept hopping all day long with many answers sought. Doug is a man of many hats and its looking like more and more his diesel work is overtaking his flying job. Its very evident to see to the owners he works hard at pleasing his customers and those potential cutomers. He often gets cornered and looks like he has his cell phone glued to his ear all the time trying to get things worked out for us. Thanks Doug, keep up the good work.

And how could we forget our resident cooks... . Chef Rams-N-Hogs & Chef Jengle. Without them showing all how to wheel our grill there would have been ALOT of hungry people. Their hard work was tested by the group when I inadvertently started the food line early by TRYING to SNEAK a couple of CTD8999's hot sausages(which I usually miss for one reason or another). I have been instructed that a heavy penalty would be assessed if I tried that agin next show. Jengle was the guy in the wrong place at the right time and ended up being volunteered by me to cook,a job he took too and did a fine job at. Thanks Guys!

ON EDIT... .

I forgot to mention that SP Diesel was also on hand helping their customers and those who sought their help. Sean and Brad work hard at their business and my forgetting them was a error on my part.

ALSO...

It was nice to see the Brotherhood Of OilBurners(Ford IDI Owners)club stop by and visit again(even though they didn't say Hi to me,LOL). I know they were seen wandering about and hope they enjoyed the show as we try and make all diesel owners welcome. Hopefully we will see them park out front and mingle with the other owners next time as I know there are just as many who would enjoy to see their rigs as they enjoyed our too.

A Personal Note From Me...

I'll not bore you all here now but I will offer this to you instead.

I seen today the fruits of our clubs hard work up close and personal today. It was something I had overlooked during the normal business and happenings of our shows as I did't get out of the bay because I desired to make this the best experience for all the owners who attended. With Dockboy's truck sidelined with a minor transmission glich Greg took the helm of the dyno bay and made me walk about a bit to see what I had missed. Knowing I had a very poor attitude and had little desire to set this show up for my own reasons, all of you took over and ran with it,while I sat aside watched to see what happened. The fruits of YOUR hard work showed today BIGTIME with the large turnout and number of trucks dynoed. It also gave me a chance to wander around and hear from alot of you. Today showed me we all are here to enjoy something in common, our diesel trucks. I understand now what you all have been trying to drill into my thick head with your notes and emails to me. Somewhere I thought we had lost what we all started this deal for and today it was easy to see we didn't. So,I will offer a thanks to all the owners who attended today as it was you who made the show a HUGE sucess.

And to our Rookie Dyno Bay Attendent Dockboy...

Thanks Greg,I will have to tell you that you were right about the parts I wasn't considering in my work before and at these shows. You did a EXCELLENT job inside and kept the show flowing and made it a success. I will say I did have a good snicker though during the day when I seen the trucks just lining up and running out of numerical order, told you it worked easier that way, :-laf :-laf . Thanks man for the nice work you did today. BTW,we WOULD have been easy on your Chrysler Cirrus on the dyno if you would have let us spin it ;) ;) ;) ;) .

Very well said Hammer :D :D It was indeed a great show with some really good people. thanks to everyone involved, we had a kick ***** time!!!!!!!!!

Another "thank you" from me to Greg.

People, I think Greg has forgotten more about dynoning and tuning for horsepower than most of us will ever know.

I know some were disappointed with their numbers - it was an imput error in the computer - one that you can correct with your calculator, as Greg said.

Remember folks - this is supposed to be FUN.

Andy, thanks for that post. I think you summed it all up very well.

The software at Kauffmans didn't really have a "glitch". What was going on was like usual we were using corrected numbers, what this means is altitude, barometric pressure, and temp are all used to calculate what your HP would be at sea level. Yesterday we had air that was better than what is known as a standard day (29. 92 in HG, 59*, at sea level). The high barometer caused the HP number to actaully have some of it taken away..... Kauffmans is right around 350 feet above sea level so even on a perfect day of 29. 92 and 59* you would see a slight give to your HP. The numbers in the fall will be generated by the same software (nothing is wrong with it) and dependant on atmospheric conditions HP will be calculated.

These numbers work great for normally aspirated vehicles but with our CTD the turbo makes its own enviroment (turbo), hence the numbers are not quite accurate. I prefer to have uncorrected numbers because they will almost always be very consistant. But remember that if we went that route last years numbers would be lower than what was given out. Bottum line is this event is for fun and I believe we all had that yesterday.

Get show everyone. I'd like to send out a thank you to everyone that helped put it all together. So are the dates set for the FALL BRAWL. . gotta get more work done so I can hit the dyno again. Let me know. . Looking forward to doing it all again.

Had a great time as always at the Mason Dixon TDC's events. The crew at Kauffmans did a great job as always. The food, drinks, and folks were also great. Don T. it was good to see you. Andy it was good to see you back as your usual self. As for the dyno #'s if I use the correction factors minus # for the Fall Brawl and plus # for Spring Fling I made 11. 25 more HP than in the fall. Are the torque #'s corrected as well ?? Greg it looks like your the new dyno room man LOL. Thanks Steve B.

Andy... ... ... ... ..... YOU'RE WELCOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

And Thanks ! I actually had a real good time.

I am really glad you got a chance to ENJOY the show ;) You deserve it.

I want to thank everyone who showed up and all the club members who helped make this happen!! It was awesome to look out the dyno bay and see nothing but trucks as far as the eye could see!!

Also, a big thanks to Ernie, Nancy, Dave, and the rest of the Kauffman crew for doing another outstanding job and letting us use their facilities!!!!!

PS. And I think from now on we will use uncorrected (actual) numbers!! ROTFLMAO!!!! :{ :D Remember guy's, these events are for fun get togethers, some friendly dyno competion, and to see how you stack up with everyone else FOR THAT DAY!!!!! :D $70 is a bargin for the fun. If you don't think so, try booking some dyno testing time like myself and others have done and see how much that runs ya!!

Wish I could have went. (King Pin replacment) Maybe in the fall, do you have to be a member of a chapter to get in? Does anyone have video clips of this event yet. Be cool if someone would post them... .

After reading some of the posts on the DTR, I feel almost obligated to throw in my useless 2 cents. I was just a lowly bystander, and I had a good day. Saw some sweet rides, met some cool folks, enjoyed some great weather, got many compliments on my ride, and ate fairly well.

Thanks to some gracious hosts, and I hope to make it out again.

Sorry I missed you Patrick- Glad to know I wasnt the only one from Jersey--Drew

A Note To The Jersey Owners here...

I know I missed those who showed at Kauffman's and wished I could have met some of you. I am working on a show in NJ and as soon as I have the details finalized I will post them. Hopefully it will allow those there to see what we do and maybe have them come for one of our big events.

Greg. .

I am guessing you now know what I meant after I posted what I did in the moderators area on our site and why it was done way back then. Its a shame to me that some have lost the vision of what we really do and are all about, diesel owners gathering and enjoying the best points of all brands. I'll bet that most all of our owners never even knew that our resident IDI engineer Mel had his Bronco IDI conversion there. I know its not a Cummins but it was very unique in its own way.

The DTR saga continues... .

I would have never expected what was going on there. I just wonder since he feels they were slighted if their Fall Brawl win was a fluke then... ... ... ... Andy

Andy/Greg?? Did I miss out on something? Maybe I forgot to collect my $5,000 cash prize for highest Hp on #2 only? The way those guys were throwing a fit on the DTR, you would have thought there was some big prize they got beat out of. Bottom line..... don't come to the dyno event expecting to make money or get a huge prize. :D The prize is getting together with friends and having a good time. :D

Popped my cherry!

Finally got out to a meet with the boys. For those that were there, I was the big red 99 QC LB lifted with 35 in rubber, and the ARB front bumper. There were stacks, big turbos and bad rigs as far as the eye could see.

I wanted to give a big thanks to the fellas at Kaufman's for access to their rack of fittings (last minute install of Snow stage 3). I needed a 3/16ths to 1/8 inch compression fitting. So a big hand to them. Also thanks to the boys in the dyno booth for letting me sweat the details of my first ever run on the dyno. (I am on the second half list, M Miller, 493. 57 and 1034. 04). I will be back, next time I WANT 600!!!!

Second big hand to Doug, aka Jetpilot of PDW. Sold me the snow kit and when there was a problem getting it setup he grabbed a wrench and jumped right in there on the day of the show. I can't say how much I appreciate his help in endless conversations on what to do with my rig and which parts are best. Thanks to him my truck has gone from stock to azz whompin!

And a thanks to Jengle, great parts chaser in the middle of the night, night before the meet. How's that sunburned neck Johnny?

Hey Mark. It was good to meet you and your friends (even if one does drive a ricer... lol). I have a couple of pictures of your truck posted... the last one is your smoke show :D . Oh, take a look in the background of number 5... ..... Are you a plumber? :-laf

Crack kills!!!!! Oo. Actually, the lil feller that was riding shotgun in the black Ford drives a saab. BUT, he is going to diesel mechanics institute. Me, Johnny and the guy in the ford, Tom, are turning him toward the light. So It looks like I do make some soot. :D

Good meeting you too Brian. Glad to provide some fodder for you, and thanks for makin me famous!

Great seeing everyone again. Glad you finally got to enjoy the show, Andy. It's kind of hard seeing what's going on outside, when you're in amidst all the smoke. :D There were some really nice trucks there. Now I'm looking forward to Fall Brawl 06, already. I'll fire up the grill a little earlier next time, though. :-laf Thanks to everyone involved in putting it all together. Thanks, Jengle for the grill assist, and Dockboy, you hit the nail on the head. It's all about fun.

Jim

Truck too late...awhhh !

Hi everyone...

Lookin forward to meeting up with some of you.

I'm switching from a V-10 excursion to a new cummins megacab, but the dealer lost the truck... . Put in an order back in march, and the dealer can't tell me where the truck is ; whether it's still not built, in Mexico, on a boat, hijacked by Chaves, sitting on a dock in Baltimore, or?

Hopefully, I'll have it by the fall gathering... . let me know when and where.

I can't wait to start adding "stuff", and look forward to seeing what's out there and how it works/sounds. I'm addicted to needing more "stuff", as I've been staying in debt for years now "customizing" my Harleys. . currently a 2004 road king. I'm ready to switch to adding to my new CTD.

I live in the Glenside area of PA (just north of Phila)

Let you know if and when I ever get my truck.
