2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Wet Wool Smell

Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) R&R vacuum pump

Newby here. First attempt at this. On the driveway, under the

truck, I found what looks like a part that could have come off of my

truck. Approx 5/16 dia x 3/4 lg spring pin. Clean and shiny.

Nothing else near the vehicle that could be a source for the part.

I crawled underneath and looked at the steering, figuring

that might be the most likely source. Nothing obvious.

Steering has been "bumpy" lately for no apparent reason.

I know these trucks fairly well and the only spring pins I've ever seen were used to attach aftermarket running boards. I'll bet it fell off something else.
 
I knew a guy once that use to toss these things in people's driveways just to worry them. :D



Seriously, it doesn't sound like anything OEM.
