Jumped into the empty bed the other day and got a 'squeek'. Dog gone thing was really noisey when rocked side-to-side.
I had an old 57 Chevy that had a bad bushing in the spring mount. A little squirt of oil and it was gone... until I drove it in the rain.
Sooo... took the truck to the dealer for the hitch recall. Explained the squeek. Told him of the experience and that lubing the bushing wouldn't fix it. Only have 20 K miles on the truck.
Result? You guessed it! They sprayed some WD40 on the 'silencer' shim(?) and it went away. Surprise! Surprise! When I objected to that approach, I was told there was no waranty code for that problem. It ain't done yet.
But my question is, have any of you had this kind of problem? Just curious as to the frequency of this type of problem.
