Local Dealer rebates

At school, we pull kayak trailers all of the time while the van is full of people and you are correct that they don't have a lot of power for pulling. With the lighter of our trailers(2000lbs loaded) I have yet to find a hill in NH that will drop the speed from 70. With the heavier trailer(4000lbs loaded), speed drops to 60 real quick, then it downshifts and holds there. If you don't mind 60, pulling 3-4000lbs isn't too bad but I wouldn't pull anymore. The go pedal is a little weird because there seems to be a downshift switch if you push real hard on it.

EKlem, did you see me on Dartmouth's campus yesterday? I was there with my 'Mercedes' Sprinter doing a demonstration for the Grounds Department. I was in front of Robinson Hall around 10 am tearing up the ground.

I counted a total of eight Sprinters in the parking lot near the Grounds Department.

I got 23. 4 mpg on the way home with a brand-new Sprinter. I was rather pleased.

Sprinters

Here in San Diego,Sprinters are everywhere. I finally saw my first one today being towed in. Not bad as I see a fair amount of everything being nursed to the dealer. My buddy uses one for his diesel fuel cleaning service(boats,storage tanks etc. ) and loves it. He did venture into a Baja surf spot and the vehicle was definitely out of its element. It beat him to death! :{

I did see you. That is funny. I think that the school now owns either 9 or 10 sprinters.

I don't think you can get a 4x4 even in germany. . if tehy offered a 4x4 it would be great . . or a standard trans too. .

I was over there last summer, and I definately saw a few with manual transmissions, I think they were all five speeds. Never saw any 4x4's though.

And I must agree with Klem, the sprinters we have here at school are great.

i towed a 6500-7000 pound trailer with mine, and the truck was fully loaded with shelves tools and material for the day... . alot of weight, well the suspension was great, towed as well as my ram however going through southern pa, up and down hills. you have to get going about 80 down hill so that you can get up the next one at about 35-40.
