I am getting ready to upgrade my fuel system and my turbo. My question is, what can I realistically expect my egt,s to drop to, with the addition of a SPS 62. Presently I have no problem hitting 1600 degrees in a heartbeat with the TST on 5/5 running empty.

I do have a 5th wheel I pull and I would like to utilize my fuel boxes at a minimum if I can maintain acceptable exhaust temps. Any input from members running the SPS 62 would be appreciated, Thanks.

The correct comparison is the phat shaft 62 to the HTT 62. Any of these chargers will be an improvement over stock, but with a TST it will still get hot if you want it to cause the TST is a major fueling charger. I just sold a sp66 to a guy with a TST and on 9/9 he still says it will get hot. I think the HTT stuff offers a little more bang for the buck, but they are both good chargers.

The SPS 62 is a true dream for towing. I use my truck in my auto transport business and log around 2,000 miles a week and did a lot of research on this before purchasing. Edge, HTT and Industrial injection are all real close to where I live.

I made a personal visit to each shop and while everyone of these companies have good people, Industrial Injection stands out in my mind because they seemed most interested in matching me with a turbo that met my specific needs and were not just out to make a sale.

I run my TST on 6/6 with my SPS 62 and really couldn't run more than 4/4 while towing previous to the SPS 62 upgrade. If you were to do a CP3 stage 2 mod as I plan on doing you could probably run 8/8. I think that the main difference for you between the HTT Sledpuller 62 and the SPS 62 will be in the reliabilty factor afforded to you by that big Super Phat Shaft. Yeah, you spend a little more initially but I think it is a less expensive option in the long run because with Industrial they really warranty their products if there is an issue.

I just get a better feeling when working with them, they look you in the eye.

Thanks again for the replies. With my stock turbo, pulling my 5th wheel I cannot go above TST 2/2, EZ 2. At those settings my egt's run 1250 on a fairly long pull, so I end up backing out of it.
So what are your egt's with the SPS62? (pulling a load) my 5th wheel is 14000/15000lbs loaded up.

There's tons of info in this thread

I towed this 2 weeks ago with no EGT issues. I towed at about 430 HP level (injectors + TST 2x1) and hit 1200 degrees when the turbo started spooling and then it settled to about 1100 degrees. What I towed is probably lighter than your 5th wheel and GShail's multiple car hauling though.

OK, Thank You! Thats what I was looking to see, some actual temps.

I believe I will have to shut my EZ off while towing, even with a bigger turbo I'm afraid my temps could get out of hand real quick. These trucks just pull so darn easy that sometimes I dont even realize I am climbing.

Amen to that statement!

I could really get lulled to sleep in New Mexico on I-40 and look at the EGT and realize I was pulling MUCH harder that I thought. These trucks don't mind working at all...
