38-45 is definitely safe. I have gotten 62 out of my Pro Street but it's certainly a much different turbo. High Tech really builds a very durable and cost effective turbo. Z's got a point on the new Super Stock 62 - it's awesome. Do a little reading on that and I'm sure you'll be very impressed.

The SS was for the "Super Stock" 62 AFarmer was suggesting we read up on. :(

I know that. I was just being sarcastic. Someone new to the turbo world, this could be very confusing.

Silver,bronze... Don't matter. Just get the 24/62 Super Stock & I promise... you'll thank me later if you don't get your back jarred from getting thrown back in your seat too hard.

It is a modified SPS62. Similar to the silver bullet, but for a 62mm compressor

This in-turn means the creation of the ultimate single?

I think that this turbo is the answer to low egt's & fast spool. I absolutely love it & I have tried HTB2 64/14,62/12,62/14 & they don't compare. This turbo is a cross between the cooling of a 64, but the spoolup of a 62. This thing comes in @ 1300 & feels like a rocket just got shoved up your ---. :D

Does HTT have anything marketed as equivalent to Silver 62?

Tim

p. s. what does 24/62 mean? I get the 62, but is that a 24mm^2 housing?

tried my silver 62 out for first time last night.

You have a manual transmission so you can get it to come in earlier Mine comes in at 1700-1800. There are a lot of people who stated in other threads that a S300 or a BD super B are not going to beat for spool up. Not true anymore this thing is equal to Bd in lower rpm and at 1700 it takes off that was with comp at 2x2 with 90hp sticks egts at 75 mph pulling mild grades was 800-900. with smarty on #6 or #8 this thing spools WICKEDLY FASTER :--) .comes in at around 1400-1500 and right to 30psi at just 1/2 throttle accel. I was going to go to 150 injectors but this thing runs awesome with the 90's I have now. I haven't gone past 1/2-3/4 throttle yet with it. But I'm waiting for a replacement ECM now so truck is dead-no start. Smarty got the best of it after just 3 programs.

There is already a "group buy" on the silver62, look in the classifieds. But why would you need a down pipe  ? It fit perfectly on my 03 and I have an auto!

I have not determined it to be better than the SPS62 just yet! After I tow my 5th wheel or something similar I will make that Judgement, just driving around town empty I see no difference except the exhaust sounds "raspier".

It is awfully pretty though :D , and I have high hopes that this one lives longer!
