I've seen some posts of guys complaining their door panels started sqeaking/creaking & making some cheap annoying sounds. Mine started doing this a couple months ago.
Last night I fixed the driver's door and it was quite easy. I removed the door panel and took some pieces of 1/4" wide weatherstripping foam and applied it to places around the perimeter where the panel touches the metal of the door. You could see where it was touching by the dull scratching of the paint. I reinstalled the panel and all is quiet as a mouse! er, mime!
The beautiful solid new-truck "thunk" has been restored and railroad crossings are sqeak-free. Except on the passenger side
That fix gets done tomorrow!
For those who've never done it, you remove the door panel by removing 2 large screws (1 near handle & 1 near mirror) and 2 small ones at the bottom. Unscrew the door lock, remove the door handle with 10mm socket, and lift up. Once free unplug window/lock controls.
Have fun!
