My brother’s 2000 Ram has had a very annoying squeak that you would swear is an exhaust mount or turbo flange type sound. It would squeak over ruff ground while moving never sitting still. My 2001 is now starting to do the same. Russ took it to the dealer and they found the problem. I thought I would pass it on to you guys. I have not heard this type of problem posted before but after both of our trucks are doing this I thought I should pass it on. It is generated from the automatic transmission shift linkage bushings one is on the frame just under the driver’s feet and the other is on the transmission. They replaced them on Russ's truck and I looked on mine and they appear to be the same that is there is not an updated part. There is grease on the plastic bushing on mine and looks like silicone grease on Russ's truck after the repair. Hope this helps some one out there that has the same very annoying ride.
