I have a 03 with 104,000 miles and a 6 speed 4x4 - this only happens when I put the truck in reverse, I get a loud squeaking or rubbing sounds while backing up. The noise will go away when I push the clutch in even if I am still rolling backwards. Anyone I have some ideas? Its due for the transmission fluid to be changed. Its hard to hear where its coming from, but sounds like trany or transfer case.

I also noticed when backing up the other day up a hill with my boat hooked up, that the truck had shake or lurching motion as I backed up.

Sound like mine did when the rear drive shaft ujoints were starting to seize... they squeak under load (the reason it stops with the clutch depressed).
