For the past week or two, I have had this awful squeak coming from the clutch pedal when I depress and release it. The squeak sounds like rubber on rubber, not metal on metal. I orginally thought it was the sole of my shoe and the rubber pedal pad, but I tested the pedal this morning by pushing it with my hand and it squeaked.

Are there rubber bushings in a joint that need a lube job? If so, what sort of lube should I use? WD-40, machine oil, grease?

The truck has about 63,000 mile, so needless to say the pedal has been depressed a few thousand times.

Thanks is advance.

Mine too, I have soaked the whole thing with oil and no better, I'm starting to think it is coming from inside the clutch master cylinder. If you figure it out let me know

I had the exact same problem. I have 62k on mine. I crawled under the dash and sprayed some white grease in the pivot points of the clutch pedal and no more squeak. I think there plastic or nylon bushings under there. Anyway I sprayed mine about 2 months ago and so far, no more problems.

Well, it looks like I'm stopping at an auto parts store on my way home from work to pick up some "spray grease".

I'll let you know how it goes.

Thanks for the help.

I had the same problem on my 98. 5 at 20k. After finding a "C" clip on the floor I took it to dealer and demanded they replace entire pivot assembly. As I secretly marked the original, I know it was replaced. I asked to see the original and there are nylon bushings in it. As oil doesnt seem to help, try some spray teflon, good luck.

I pulled the C-clip and rod that the pedals pivot on. I got new bushings and assembled with a bit of grease.
