OK here's the deal. The roads where I live and the pastures I'm driving thru are about as smooth as a porcupine's back. My dashboard has developed a squeak recently. I checked the door hinges and greased them to no avail. I'm thinking that it's my dash and/or gage pod. It on'y happens when I hit a bump and it's coming from the left front of the cabin. Anyone else had this phenomenon or at least have an suggestions where to look?

Thanks

Search TSB's

There is a TSB on this subject, mine did it too. The dash rubs on the pillar and squeaks, I can't remember the TSB #. Hope this helps.

Creaking dash TSB

Here is the TSB 23-19-00 states:

Instrument panel creak.

A creak or squeak may be present near the left and/or right side(s) of the instrument panel. The noise is caused by the sheet metal joint between the A-pillar and the dash p0anel plenum lower rubbing together. The repair involves loosening that instrument panel and providing additional clearance between the A-pillar inner panel and dash panel.

Before you get into the dash bit check your steering column. There's a rubber type of connector on the steering column under the hood (somebody jump in and clarify this part) that can start sqeaking and is enough to drive one about insane. It sounds exactly like a dash sqeak. Spray the H out of it with a silicone type of lubricant and keep moving the column left/right as you're doing this. Chances are you'll save yourself a major headache. Mine has been purring along quietly now for comming on two years.

I just started having this problem and came here to check. . seams like i'm not the only one. . its anoying crackling type squak. . oh i am starting to hate it, the other day i hit hard enough on the dash and it stoped for the whole 2 minutes. . i was soo happy and then "squak, ting squeak" oh i was ready to take the 25#sledge and smack it ( i was hungry)
