My front brakes have been squeaking at low speed since I took test drive. Brought it up to dealer and made them check it out before any deal. He assures me" They are new front pads and that they haven't seated yet" and also assures me the rotors are within specs. I bring it into a local brake shop and they tell me it got "Pad slapped" rotors should have been replaced. I tell dealer this, and he says brake shop is just triing to get new brakes and rotors out of me. And dealer gets ****** at me, not believing them. They both say brakes are safe, but the squeal is sure annoying!! Anything I can do, besides replacement, to stop squeal? It doesn't seem as bad when it's wet out. Thanks for any input:p James

Brake Squeal?

James, does it squeal when applying brakes or when rolling at slow speed, squeal stops when brakes applied? Makes a big difference, our front caliper\pad contact is the most common cause of squeal, not pad\rotor [braking] contact. Annoying as hell but harmless if its what many of us have had even with newer trucks, original brakes:mad: JimG

JimG, it squeels when I hit the brakes mostly slow speed. Although I'm pretty sure I've also heard just squeeling just rolling aglong, not as often though. Nothing can be done?:{ Thanks James
