Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) squeaky overload springs

I remember reading something about using a plumbers helper for reducing the squeaking noise I get when the bed of my truck is loaded. (the ends of the helper springs rub against a rubber pad the factory installed) where do I get one of these "helpers", and where does it intsall? on the end of the spring? in place of the rubber pad?
