Hi guys,

Was wondering if any of you folks are experiencing a real squeeky steering wheel? I don't know for sure if it's the wheel squeeking but it's in that general area. Whenever I hit a bump or something, it goes crazy. It also makes heavier noises as I am turning the wheel. Everything seems to be operating fine, just noisy. This started about 2 months ago or so. If anyone has any info, please let me know. Thanks. #ad

Hi Jack. I've got the same problem on my 99. It's a high pitched squeak, right? It started about a year ago on my truck. When I ease the wheel to the right, it stops. I forgot about the lithium grease solution. I will be trying that tonight. I also noticed that the squeak is more prevalent in warmer weather #ad

Yes, definately. That is the exact same thing going on with my truck. I am going to try the solutions given here and see how it goes.

Fixed the noise. Thanks for the tips. I put WD-40 along the steering column under the hood and under the dash. Absolutely no noise whatsoever. Thanks folks!!!

I tried the lithium grease last night. It did not work, so I doused the whole column from the firewall out with WD-40. It was quiet this morning, but that is not unusual. I'll see how it sounds this afternoon on the way home from work.

Update: The WD-40 worked like a charm. No more squeaking #ad
