Have any of you seen anything like this? Was in a customers truck that I was working on.

This is what I call a real squirrel cage! Seems the squirrels were getting ready for winter, and they filled the airbox!

Mine was filled to the brim with walnuts and hood insulation. Truck would barely run. Good thing the K&N had wire mesh in or I'm sure they would have eaten though it. It's been so long since I've used one, does the stock filter have mesh in it?

Mine engine compartment was filled with walnuts and firewall insulation. Had to use a shop vac. Still had quite a few when Dave's Diesel-Angola replaced front cover a year later.

When I was restoring my '55 VW, I had it apart for awhile. Under the car is a couple of 2. 5" hoses that hook to the engine for cabin heat. Well no engine in the car for 5 years and these openings not sealed resulted in ROASTED:mad: acorns when I used the heater for the first time. Pieces of acorn shot up out of the defroster ducts. When we buy trucks at work we buy them up to 200 at a time. They will sit in a field for up to a year as we dole them out to the users. I have found plenty of rat and squirrel nests in them. In the air cleaners, heater boxes under the seats. We had one that started a fire in the field when we started it. A rat's nest was so far up the exhaust pipe it didn't blow out upon starting. A fire started in the pipe and the embers blew out setting the field on fire. Luckly we were able to put it out before any thing was damaged. we had 234 F*rd p/u's and 150 GMC vans in the lot.

Wayne did the guy let his truck sit for long periods of time? Time to get out the "drier sheets" :)
