I've seen quite few SRT-10 hood owners are interested in an affordable scoop insert adding a touch of bling to their rig.

I'm in the begining processes of cutting some 304 stainless steel inserts to replace the boring waffle screen.

Not only am I gauging interest in people with the desire for these but also looking for extra ideas in certain cuts.

I'm planning a first run of 25 pieces. I am not aware of a price yet as material prices are all over the chart right now but I plan to keep it affordable.

I have two cuts in mind. The first one is similiar to the one sold on eBay, obround slots, mirror imaging the chrome Ram grills.

The other cut is to copy the Cummins logo in one of two ways, (as long as I'm not infriging on copyright laws).

Also to add to this I'm playing with the idea of a rain plug, since the rainy season offers cooler weather the added air flow isn't nessecary.

These insert will be in brushed finish and further polishing would be made by the new owner.

I'm still awaiting material and machine quotes before I commit.

So, if you have an idea for a cut in the insert... ... post it up.

There is a possibilty to have one-offs made with your own personal cut but the price would be augmented for customs, takes more time to program.

Any feedback?

I suppose an insert that would facilitate plumbing into the OE air box might generate some interest in an SRT-10 hood for me otherwise I'm not interested blowing air on the motor.

It would need water drains similar to ones the factory used on shaker style hoods years back.

The insert is only a cosmetic alternative than what's available and what's over priced as on eBay.

I'm not a sheetmetal or fiberglass guy otherwise I would make a working ram air plenum for this hood myself.

Sorry if you misunderstood my post.

Doug, if the price is good I might be interested in one. My idea on a custom design would be having an insert in the shape of shark teeth. Be kinda like a mouth with sharp teeth in the middle of the hood. Something similar in look to the old war birds.

Thats cool . . I have been keeping an eye on that hood and may end up with one which would need spiffed up too.
