First post here, been lurking for a long time and finally got around to registering and making a post. My ride is a white 03 3500, quad cab, SRW, HO with an NV5600. Recently I've been researching and reading about the different shifter options we have available. I've read mixed reviews on the BD short shifter kit, and haven't seen more then 2-3 posts with people that have the whiplash, so I'm not really sure what to think about it.

My question is, has anyone checked to see if it is possible to use the SRT10 shifter and possibly linkage? It is supposedly a Hurst unit, but the transmission is a Tremec (I believe?) so I wasn't sure. I've been in one of the SRT-10's before and liked the way the shifter felt (I didn't drive it though), thought it might make a nice home on top of the NV5600. Any thoughts?

Welcome to the TDR. I'm sorry I don't have the answer, but the funny thing is that I was just looking at an SRT yesterday and was thinking the exact same thing! I'd like to steal those seats too!

Thanks for the welcome!

I was just on Dodgeparts.com trying to see if they had a parts breakdown for the SRT-10, but I haven't found one yet. Probably can compare the 2 and get a decent idea if it will fit or not.

I have the BD shifter and like it. Shifting into reverse is the only glitch. If I snap shift from 3rd or 5th into reverse it goes in no problem. The NV5600 stick pops in from the top. The Hurst/SRT-10 is it side mounted linkage or from the top?

Cool, thanks lmills. In the meantime, I'll make a few posts on some SRT-10 forums and see if I can get any answers. Glad some other people are interested in it, I was wondering if I was the only person who had really thought it would be a good swap.

I believe the SRT-10 uses the same transmission as the Viper. Totally different animal than our NV-5600. Therefore, shifters wouldn't interchange.

hopefully the shifter stock [the aluminum one that says hurst on it] is a separate bolt on piece to the transmission shifter. that would look kinda slick in my truck [and i believe others would like that too... :D] even if it ment some custom bracketry... i need to look into it also. . :D

If any of us can come up with the a lever out of one of our trucks www.harmsauto.com

can custom make us a Pistol Grip shifter like on the 70-74 Mopar muscle cars.

Go to his site and check out his work. i already talked to him about it he just needs a lever, off of a NV5600.
