SRT 10 truck

One of the guys on another forum I visit ran his new 1 day old SRT 10 truck Friday night and ran a 13. 51 at 104 + mph with no traction. With traction it would have been a high 12 pass. And the truck had less than 300 miles on it also. Sounds like they will be a good mid 12 second machine with nothing other than drag radials or a set of Kumhos like the Viper guys run for better traction.

Saw it on Motorweek a while back. They said it has the 500hp Viper V-10 in it. Sure was cool to watch. Took very little to light the tires . Looked like it needed some more weight in the back to help keep some traction.

They did install some type of shock that applies down pressure to prevent wheelhop but with 525 pounds of torque and a 6 speed transmission I kind of figured traction would be non-existent. Once they start doing the aftermarket computers, exhaust work and superchargers on those monsters I wouldn't be surprised to see a 10 second truck or 2 show up. They are getting well over 800hp out of some of the Vipers and still driving them on the street.

They said they are selling for 45,000. That is about reasonable enough to have one in my garage!

funny thing about the SRT-10. i had been waiting for that truck for 2 years. i already commited to getting one (with my wife) and we were all set, even when we figured it could go all the way to $50k. i had been talking to my local dealer every 3 months or so trying to find out when it would be available and what the final price would be. as it turns out, i was given an old 91 d250 with a cummins, in september. it ran great but needed a rear spring replaced. it totally changed my mind. because of that old truck, i now have the 04 cummins instead of the srt-10. not only does the cummins cost less, but i can do a lot more with the quad cab and it will be used year round. i have enough garage queens already, so i guess this worked out for the best.
