SRT hood info?

I'd like to find out if there is any info when Dodge will have the SRT hood's ready for shipment. I ordered an SRT hood for my 3500 when I bought it and sitting here antsy wondering when it might show up. When I ordered it I was told there was a nation wide back order with about 95 of us waiting for one.

Took about a week to get mine here in Phoenix, Arizona from a Chrysler dealer.

I just picked up mine from a dealer in NC yesterday, he has another on the shelf...

I'm sure there is only 1 dodge dealer in Wilmington. I dealt with the parts manager Jeff. I told him there was a dealer in Asheboro that would order it for me for $450, which was true. I just didnt't tell him it was through a buddy that worked at the dealer.

SRT Hood

My hood was on backorder for two weeks. I just picked it up today. There is a picture in my Readers Rigs of how it comes packaged. I can't wait to get some silver paint on this thing!

Yeah the silver looks good! now I know pretty much what mine will look like, except the bumper and wheels.



Fred, do you know if they had to do any color match buffing or was it just spray and install? another question, how was the ride with the 19. 5 compared to the bfg 315s? nice looking truck!



I have been thinking about flares, since I have to go to a paint shop anywho. I just wish I could see some of the different brands installed on 3rd gen in person.

Now the availability situation may have infact changed in the last 4 weeks... but I got the complete set of SRT-10 hood and bumpercover assemblies within a week of ordering.



But I will say this: It does make a difference on which parts man you choose to order thru. The 1st guy/dealer I went to told me the same thing. (Infact he told me they were not making them anymore - ref one of my threads).

Went to another dealer and that parts man knew the right lines of communication and was able to tell me 'blank' amount of hoods were sitting at 'blank' distrubition center. Had one of them a week later.

The wheels are Eagle Alloy 101's. Yes they do color matching where I had it done, I didn't need any additional work for the hood or the bed.



No comparison between the 19. 5's and the 315 BFG's. The BFG's will ride much smoother than any 19. 5's.
