What do you guys think of putting a SRT10 hood on a diesel? I live up here in washington... Some winters get pretty cold... . You guys think that hood would look good on a 2500 and do you think it would serve a purpose or is it just pretty much a cosmetic thing... LOOKS..... I like the looks my self but I don't know.

I Love em on everything Ive seen them on even duallys. here are some part numbers in case you need them. If you like em go for it.

HOOD:

SRT-10 Hood... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... 5029 419AE... ... ... 600. 00

Scoop molding (includes grill)... ... ... ... ... . YL23TZZAB... ... ... ... 174. 00

Grill for scoop (if want to order spare)... 5029484AB... ... ..... 23. 85

SRT-10 Hood pad ("Viper")... ... ... ... ... ..... 55350891AC... ... ... 68. 50

If you order the scoop molding you will not have to order the grill separately as it is included with the molding pkg. The hood pad fits around the scoop underside but it also has "Viper" embossed on it

I do not like them, they serve no purpose, when I see them, I think Hemi SRT-10 wanna be, but to each his own.

I say, who cares what other people think, do what you want. Just this morning I had a guy ask me what I was doing to my truck... ? I asked what he meant. He said he thought my head ache rack made the truck look "funny" and he didn't like the stacks... I just said "it's a good thing it's mine, isn't it?"; and left it at that.

LOL perfect answer there CHolman, for what it's worth I peeked at your pics and that's one sweet looking rig.

Thanks, I appreciate it... . I had my uncle make that head ache rack, so it's a one of a kind... Like I said screw what other people say. Poeple who don't like my rig, don't have to look at it, for that matter they can go pi$$ up a flag pole...

I like it, I may change the hood on the new truck to the SRT hood so that it matches my baby. Again who cares what people think? Its not their truck, its yours!

If it's not functional, I think it's stupid. .

But it does look good tho.

Even the SRT-10's hood isn't functional, there is no way air is even entering there (to low), and atleast on the prototypes I seen, there was nothing hooked to it.

Kinda like a ricer with a huge wing and a top speed of 80mph, it's pointless. :)

Correct even on the SRT there is no ducting hooked up to it. Mopar does sell an intake setup that make the scoop functional but it also still draws from the front fender. Bottom line, the scoop isn't in an area that gets lots of airflow, even hooked up you'd have to be doing over 100 mph to even pretend like there might be any benefit. There are very few cars where scoops anywhere perform a performance function.

I think they look great, hence I ordered one to put on my truck when it gets here. Granted it may not make it perform better, but then looks are important to me too. :D

I think stacks are fugly, but to each his own and it gives me something to laugh at :-laf :-laf

I think the SRT-10 hood is awesome!! So I got one!!

There is no Hemi SRT-10 as they only have a V8.

The SRT-10 has a V-10.

I was thinking about doing this with my truck, what's a good guess at what it would cost to have it painted to match? I am trying to figure out a round about total cost for the whole project. Thanks

I put the SRT-10 hood on my truck and I like the way it looks. I used the scoop plate from the Daytona. It blocks off the air and keeps all the water and salt from getting in.
