Can anyone give me reliable part numbers, front and rear for BILSTEIN shock absorbers for my stock 2004. 5 long box quad described below? If you have experience with purchase of these shocks, are they available as OE ride and/or HD versions?

Your help will be appreciated as would advice as to best place for purchase.

Thank you!

Thank you. I found the part numbers and description at shox.com as you suggested.

I have also searched this forum for info, and it appears to me these Bilstein 5100 series shocks are made for Dodge 1500 pickups, maybe for 2500's, but no mention of 3500's.

If you are using these shocks on a 3500 SRW Ram, tell me how you find their performance, specially under load.

Thanks again.

This is directly from the shox.com website:

Fits 4X4 2500,3500 with stock height or 2 inch lift. . These are zinc plated. (BE5-6681-H5, BE5-6647-H5)

I talked to Bilstein, last week, and was told that the shocks "dedicated" to the 2500 & 3500's will/should be out by the middle of July (hopefully, this year).

Hope this helps.

Joe F. (Buffalo)

PS: I read, here, awhile back that Kore Eng. had some "specially-valved" 1500's that work well on our trucks. You may want to check into them. Bilstein was supposed to have the "dedicated" shocks out shortly after the SEMA Show, last year but, as I heard, had some problems with them. Don't know if that will be fixed with the supposed July introduction.

This is from the Bilstein site (not shox.com):

http://www.bilstein.com/suvs_5100.php

5100 Series, Ram 2500, Front 2" Lift: F4-BE5-6681-H5, Rear 0" Lift: F4-BE5-6647-H5

Ram 3500 is not mentioned on the Bilstein site. shox.com must have extrapolated

that to the 3500 themselves. Which is what I did and I have those shocks coming.

Just ordered a pair of 5100's from Kore yesterday. Should have them by beginning next week. I called them directly. Did check out DRC's site, but decided to go ahead and get them from Kore. Have nothing but praise from the folks here who have gone the Kore route. I only bought the fronts as I already have a pair from a Pwoer Wagon for the ear. Not installed yet. Will install both F & R when order gets here. Try looking on Kores site. Real nice stuff and good customer service. http://www.koreperformance.com/

Set of 5100's arrived via UPS from KORE today. Has anybody installed Bilstein 5100's from Kore yet, and if so, any comments?

Can't belive you guy's are paying 121. 00 for a 5100 through Kore!

Lets do the math;

2- 5100 shocks from Kore 242. 00 + shipping

or

4- 5100 shocks from Offroadwarehouse.com 264. 00 + free shipping

scratch, scratch

No wonder you can only afford two!

Easy to install and quite a ride improvement feel free to call if you want a few tips 571-238-8056

You asked why I would pay more for Bilsteins from KORE instead of from Shox.com. Well, KORE says the Bilstein 5100 front shocks are modified in their shop for diesel (or you can get gas), and the rears are modified in their shop for the 3500.

If I am wrong, or have been misled by KORE, please tell me. I found them to be helpful and somehow, I doubt they are being less than honest.

But tell me... !!

Mr. Brittan,

The front Bilstein 5100's KORE sells are the standard silver and black 5100's you can get anywhere. We liked the valving on these shocks, so we didn't change anything.

The rear 5100's KORE sells have been specially modified. We weren't happy with the standard Bilstein 6647 valving, so we have all the 6647's we sell revalved to KORE spec. This shock uses special pistons and one-way check valves to minimize compression damping and maximize rebound control. This modification almost doubles our cost for this shock. That's why it costs more than a regular 5100. In the future Bilstein will mass-produce this shock with our valve profile to replace the current 6647. When we can buy them in bulk and get the performance we want without modifying them, we'll lower our price to the price of the regular 5100's we sell.

I apologize if this caused any confusion.

Best Regards,

Kent Kroeker

KORE

Thank you sir!

I have/had no confusion and could see from the packaging you modified the rear shocks. Your reply should set other minds at ease who might have thought your price was high as compared to other suppliers, however, now anyone can see why.

I bought your Bilstein shocks on purpose for a reason and appreciated your help at the time of purchase.

Thank you again!

how do you contact kore for these bilstein schocks ? i see you have had yours for quite a while now---still impressed with them ?
