Anyone know of a source for either ready-made or build'em yourself stainless steel lines that will match up with the threads on the Amsoil dual-remote setup?

I've had a problem with the rubber hose and connectors supplied by Amsoil leaking from day one. Makes for a messy lower end on the engine and front suspension.

I have braided SS covered teflon lines made with swivel crimped on ends, made to the correct length to go between the billet alum. adaptor and the filter mounting bracket I make that goes around the passenger side battery.

Try Summitt Racing they have all of it you will need. I did it myself from their catalog. I used -8an line and 3 swept 90 degree -8 an swivel fittings and one straight swivel in my set up. I used Earls fittings and I believe their performoflex hose. Part numbers were EAR800108 for aluminum swivel straight, EAR809108 for 8an 90 degree elbow aluminum swivel. I got 6 feet of the hose but that will depend on your mount location. I ended up using about just under 3 feet with my mount on the battery. They also have steel fittings as well. I highly suggest using the swivel as it makes the install much easier. Those are the parts I used with the Amsoil dual remote Bypass setup with John Strenkowskis (tdr name CPFF) trick billet adapter block. Highly recommend that fine piece of equipment. Also one other word of caution anything that steel braid comes in contact with is going to abraid very fast. I had a couple places that it was going to rub on some things and I slid the ss line inside some 5/8 or 3/4 black heater hose cut just long enough to avoid the chafing. Can't hardly even see it. John Strenkowski may even be making sets of these lines up now. He was talking about it at one time. So check out www.summitracing.com and do a search on CPFF and email him he is full of help.

good luck,

Barry

I set out down this road when I installed my bypass filter. Turned out to be pretty expensive. I started by buying a length of braided s/s hose (rated for this use) and some Parker fittings - compression type (re-usable) for use with this hose. I was very careful when I cut the hose and with the assembly, but I had two of them weep oil. Not enough to cause any problem, just enough to annoy. Anyhow, I ended up having new hoses w/ crimped ends, made up at their shop. The guys at Parker were great, and took pity on me, only charging for the new (crimp style) fittings. If you choose to pursue this, make sure you have your routing down. There is very little give at the ends, so the orientation of the fittings when they are made up is critical. There may be cheaper alternatives than Parker, I really didn't shop it. Anyone else ? Hope this helps. Good luck!

I would definatley buy the lines from CPFF. I have seen them, they are perfect and they are assembled and ready to go. If you have ever assembled AN fittings, you will appreciate these lines. I had to make my own buying components from Summit. They are a pain in the A** to assemble to say the least.

Tstinson,

You can buy the newer fittings as well as the hose directly from Amsoil. Since the introduction of the new model BMK-15, these fittings are aircraft type, and the hose is a braided hose as well, but not stainless.

I have the newer hose from Amsoil and the new Hydraulic style hose fittings form my dual bypass kit. You can HAVE them if you want them. Email me your adress. I drive this truck everyday and i did not want to take even a remote chance of destroying the engine or turbo due to a line failure which will DEFINATLEY not be covered under warranty. Do yourself a favor, spend a little extra and get the braided stainless lines. It may seem like alot of money, but its NOTHING compared to a new engine.

do yourself a favor buy from cpff

dude... . save yourself some trouble and buy the whole package from cpff. you wanna go with the amsoil stuff... . i'll give you mine for the price of shipping.

i found out you can buy any piece of the dual bypass kit individually. just buy the filters and the filter bypass from amsoil. get the rest from cpff. all leaks stopped with the cpff block adaptor.

i wish i had bought cpff's ss lines as well. come to think of it... if you're on a budget i'll sell you my ss lines w/an fittings for real cheap so i can buy cpff's ss lines.

learn from the mistakes of others.....

If you do order just the Bypass filter block from Amsoil, dont forget to order the mounting clamps, CPFF's battery mount needs them to work.

CPFF SS Lines

Well, I bit the bullet and got both the billet adapter and the ready-made stainless steel lines from CPFF. This is absolutely the only way to go if using a remote filter mount.

The adapter and SS lines from CPFF are bulletproof!
