They will be just like Mallorys Mount but made of stainless steel and are being made with his permission.

Mallory's Mount wouldn't clear the HX turbo on the HO engines... will your version??

If it will bolt right up with no modification, count me in for one. Oo.

I don't know if they will work on a HO with a Hx turbo, I don't have a truck with that set up to test it with. I will try to find a local member to test it.

Hi fellow TDR members,

I have to give an overview here. I have got alot of email questions.

To start I am not a vender, I contacted a local friend with a laser cutter to see if he could make these mounts. He can make the basic shape I have to do the rest in my hanger. I am only making them for friends and TDR members.

The mounts are made out of 16 guage Stainless steel with a grained finnish. He says the equipment in the shop scraches mirrior finnish stainlees mainly because it is not able to be handled by hand but fork lift and other means. They are put though the grainer after they are cut. The one in the picture is not grained just sanded because it took alot of abuse from R&D. Grained is more shinny than that. I chose stainless because it works better at refecting the heat from the turbo.

The mounting hardware on the ss shield for the fillter will be aluminum riveted to the stainless mount. The fillter is held to the mount with a large zip tie just like Mallorys.

It will mount with the factory air box mounting nuts, they fit into the shield just like they fit into the factory air box.

If you look at the pictures. That is the basic design it has the aluminum parts on it. Only difference will be the new ones will fit a little tighter to the hood. I also added a angle brace to the mount to stiffen up the mount. You can see the pictures here.

I am trying to find a person with a HO to test it on to see if it will work on it with a hx, does the hx come on the HOs or do I have to find somone with that mod?. It fits on my 96 perfect does not hit the turbo or the fillter.

The price for them is $60. 00, That was based on me ordering about 20 of them. I am not making any money on them. I am doing it just to help out fellow members. If there is not a order of 20 the price may go up by a little.

My son did me the favor of emptying my email folder so I need everyone who wants one to email me at -- email address removed --

I have some orders that did not get lost, but if you read this please send me another one.

In the email include the following:

Full name

Shiping address

email address

I would like to get a solid order before thursday this week. Once you order one there is no backing out I do not have the money to keep them on the shelf. Once I have a order it will be about 4 days before I can ship them.

I will email everyone who orders with payment terms.

Thanks,

Jason

BHAF Mount

I will take one- Just looking at the size of the BHAF I have decided to go with that in place of my K &N in the stock airbox- it is my understanding there is a marine version of this that is forgiving of water? That sounds good- my truck goes to the beach alotOo. Oo.

I have had the BHAF on my rig for two days now. I had a k&n in the stock box before that. Things I noticed:

WOT with k&n stock in stock box 1275 deg. egt

Wot with BHAF 1150 deg. egt

outside temp was the same.

When I took my air intake tube off my fan blades in the turbo were dirty and there was dirty film on the intake tube walls. I feel that I installed the k&n correctly. However I live were there are alot of dirt roads and fine dust. I am not down on K&N I have had them in every rig I have owned, this is first problem.

There are Marine versions.

Donaldson Filters here were about half the cost of fleetguards.

I don't know the #s

But will try to get them for you.

Thanks,

Jason

BHAF and dust/sand

Makes me feel better about going to the BHAF- thanks for the help on the marine version if I get a number and a distributor I will ask some more questions- look forward to the new mount- Thanks again:)

Since you had some problems with the E-mail, how about you post a list of everyone who is getting one. I really don't want to miss out on this one. Thanks again!

Don't worry Chris your on the top of the list.

I have 20 orders as of today. I have sent everyone payment instructions. If you did not recive payment instructions you are not on the list. I will place the order on thursday morning so if you have not ordered one yet and want one do it now.

I will post the list later today.

I have been unable to get a HO truck to test the mount on. I am still trying though.

Thanks,

Jason

It would be very cool if it sealed against the hood, fender and firewall. See what you can do to help this happen. Either way I plan on modifying it to make it seal, at least mostly. :)
