A Get together in Salt Lake City?

BD Dyno Days

David

I would like to see something on this side of the river for the next get together. I will look into finding someplace that we can meet.

I would also like to see us have a get together in both monthes.

Maybe if we get a couple of places we could do a poll/vote on it.

I agree. lets do something in Missouri for a change.

how about all the rest of us..... tie on to the BIG Boy's Toy and see how far he can pull us :D or tie both of the Toys together and invite some Chevy and Fords over. Just Kiddin Don :D

can we do anything for Charity as a group? maybe attend one of the Land of the Giants shows as a group. they are all about the children and for charity.

Don whats their schedule like?

Todd, I like the idea of gathering at your place. I have talked to at least two others that like the idea. No one has posted any ideas so if you want to set something up for a bbq or something at the lost farm in Illinois lets get the ball rolling. Anyone else with an idea for a place in Missouri?

That's something we can look into Adam. I just don't know much about the middle of MO so maybe Roger Rodbolt can help. What do you say Larry? Any good dyno's or places to meet around the Columbia area? We could work on having something in October as it may take a while to set something like this up. Keep the suggestions coming.

David

David,

I just got home from Scheids and read your post, think that October is doable but need to work on finding a nice or the right place. No chassis dyno is available (just heard about a 1500hp engine dyno north of Columbia) but we should come up with something. Wish I'd had more time in Terre Haute to visit, Larry

PS: 78cumminsrepower has a motorcycle/racing shop and does Cummins work (in Mexico, MO). He has purchased a new KDP jig and has mentioned having a dowel pin party. Are there any Gateway member engines that need fixing? I did mine before I pulled at Scheids. Matt is towing a TDR member's car from Texas to Michigan but should be back early this week, after a family vacation in MI.

Sounds good Larry. I am confident we can come up with something. I personally don't know if any trucks need to be fixed or may have already been taken care of. Most of the trucks are 24 valvers. If there is no response after a couple of days I will send out an email to the GDOA group mailing and tell anyone interested to post what they think. It was nice chatting with you and a hardy Congradulations on your pulling results.

So where's this park in relatuion to I-70 and the state of Mo? I'm delivering a camper to the Ozarks that wkend and would love to stop by.

Mark, the park is in Illinois not very far from I-70. If you are coming East to get to the Ozarks you would have another 3 hour drive at least to get to the park. If you are interested you can email me for directions. We would like to have you drop by if you can. We have room for a lot of trucks.

David

Glad to see you are going to make it John. You don't have another engine to bring for "show and tell" do you? Looking forward to the 21st.

David

I am going to "try" to make it again this time. Maybe nobody will have any breakdowns to keep me from getting away from here this time. I tried to find the directions you posted from I55 last time but all I found was the parts list that I had lost for my air stapler:D I f you could post directions again I would appreciate it. thanks.

Just stay on I-55 into Illinois and travel until you get to Rt 159. I don't know the exit number but it is only 12 miles or so from the river. Take the North exit to Rt 159 and you want to travel through Maryville and Glen Carbon. Once you pass the two dealerships on the left (Chrysler and GM dealers) you will be coming up to a stop light by a Home Depot. This is Center Grove Road. Make a left onto Center Grove Rd and when you come to a small bridge that passes over an set of old rail beds, the Park is on the left. You can't miss the Jet Fighter on the stand next to the road. The entrance is on the left about 100 feet before the stop light. You just look for the trucks parked by one of the pavillions, the park is not that big. Hope you can make it. If you get lost give me a call on my cell phone 618-558-1081.

dseabaugh,

If you like we could meet in Festus and you can follow me up the rest of the way. I live about 15 miles south of Festus.

Let me know.

This sounds like it might be a really good time:) What do you guys do at these get togethers, and would someone new be welcome to come?:D :D I will be there.

Don

Hi Newbie. Glad you can make it. I heard through the grapevine that you pull one of them thar dog sleds or something like that. Maybe you have some good stories to tell:D :D

Hey guys, I'm glad that you are getting this September meeting together, newbies:) and all. I've searched for a something to do around Columbia for October and have almost decided that I live in a boring place ;). The good news is that Dale S. with the pulling sled called me in regard to a benefit sled pull and get together at Belle, MO on the afternoon of October 19th. Some of you have been there before and may comment but I think they have had a great time in the past. What do you think?

Unfortunately, I am scheduled to be out of state that weekend :( :(, but a little barbecue and sled pulling to raise money for a good cause may work?

Larry

Maybe Don will let us hop-up his truck!! That would be fun, lets make it smoke.

But, we don't want to make it look like the 4cyl. I had with me last time.
