Dyno Day in Kearney

Lincoln, Ne GTG

You won't want to miss this special Dyno Event featuring the VA-C5!!!

MCS Midwest Performance Diesel has partnered with Van Aaken for a very special Dyno Event. For this pPull you will need to remove all power adders from your truck (No boxes or Downloaders). MCS will install the C5 on your truck. You will get 3 runs on the dyno. The 1st run will be a baseline run with the C5 on the factory setting. The following two runs will have software upgrades done on site. You will get to see "how to" make these upgrades on a huge overhead,... you'll get to see each mouse click!!! And here is the biggy,. . Van Aaken is sending one of their Tech Engineers from the UK to MCS,... . on site to do the mods and tell you how to do it.

No where in the country has an event like this occured so don't miss out. You are not obligated to buy anything,. . however there will be units available on site for purchase at a promotional rate which will mean a savings of a couple hundred dollars!

Think about it,... you have a tremendous investment in your truck and all the mods you have made to this point. You can't afford to blunder through software tweaking,..... and you don't have to,. . Van Aaken's top dog will be there to demonstrate for you. Don't miss this event!!

Mark your calendar - Dec 1 & 2. As this will be a two day event, then refreshments will be available on site.

You must be prescheduled and prepayed for this event. Call 636-451-4144 and ask for Keith. He will give you specifics on pricing for the pulls with the C5. MCS features their Mustang Dyno for this event.

When: Dec 1 & 2

Where: MCS Midwest Performance Diesel (MCS is located on I-44 2 exits West of Six Flags at the Gray Summit Exit. Go to the South Outer Road and go 200 yds back East and turn R. at the 1st turn. MCS is on the Hill overlooking the Highway. )

St. Louis Van Aaken dyno pull has been rescheduled.

The St. Louis Van Aaken C5 dyno pull has been postponed until after the 1st of the year.

However, MCS Midwest Performance Diesel will still hold the Dec 1st dyno pull. It will be open to all makes and models. This will now be a "Run whatcha brung" event.

MCS Dyno Day Dec 1st

It should be a very good time as the scope of what will be dynoed is much larger. Bring one,. . bring all. Let's see them all (Furds, D-Max and Cummins) get it on!!

Dec 1st dyno pull starts at 9AM til it's done!!!

How'd it go

It went like most pull events held on Mustangs,. . low numbers. Most guys felt like their numbers were 150hp low from what they had seen previously. I don't have the numbers to post,. . maybe MCS will. The high number was 555hp. I'll say this,... only the high number was in the 500s and NO ONE was in the 400s at all, if that tells you something. Everyone was in the 300s and I believe one or two were even in the 200s!! Not throwing rocks at Mustang but they do seem to be lower than anything else. I recall the event at TST and it was similar with their Mustang. One thing for sure,... Mustangs may be the only "right numbers" and everything else is BS", since theirs is a true load dyno and not inertial. I called the local DynoJet shop and they don't even want to run my truck since he said he knows it won't be right numbers. That tells me what I need to know. Just too many ways to manipulate dyno numbers from all I've read. This may well me my last dyno,. . I'm content to let the strip tell the story. Look at the NGM truck for instance,. . I've never seen an outstanding dyno pull on that truck yet he keeps kicking the doodoo out of almost everyone. I like that style.

Hmmm!

Brads 06 Dually did 490 with a BBDL, FASS, Injectors and SPS62/K31 Twins..... Turned on the TST..... and got 400..... haha... . Sucking the rail dry..... :-laf

That truck of Brad's has more mods than a lot that post 700hp+ on the forums. That's what I'm talkin' about. And that's all it shows on the dyno:mad:. Let the drags do the talkin'.

If anyone wants some real enlightenment then call Mark Chappel at TST when/if he has time to talk to you about dynoing. He says there are guys who come into his shop that say they do 800,. . 900 etc and don't break 500hp. The highest 3rd gen to date that's dynoed on his 50" drum Mustang is 657HP!!!! Two 2nd gens went in the low 700s and that's it.

No body wants to whiss off the customers so they manipulate things to make it look good for the guy and it keeps him buying and buying and buying etc. That's great but it's not real either. Wicked Diesel did a piece over on Comp D recently and if it doesn't put you to sleep (pretty long piece) then it does shed some light also about dynoing.

The best you can hope for, IMO, is a sense of comparison to those who are there dynoing on the same day and that's as long as they aren't a friend of the dyno operator,. . you should be aboe to get a sense of relativity.

I had the right truck,...

Naw. . you are talking about the race truck... . we didnt dyno that... . that was his personal DD truck... ... He showed up about an hour after you left... .

I've seen guys post 660hp with a sps 66, fass, scary larry and built auto, stock cp3 and stock inj's. That dually has more balls than that. That is my point.

There were a couple of 400 numbers. Not many, but there weren't that many trucks that dynoed either.

I didn't think Brad's numbers went down that far on his duallie when the TST was turned on. I still think it was the stock CP3 holding him back.
