Stable Loads for a 2012 3500 DRW

I purchased some Stable Loads for my 2012 3500 DRW. As I was about to start the install I noticed the FACTORY bump stops looked very similar to the TorkLift set. Holding them side by side they were almost identical!



Did Dodge start putting "enhanced" bump stops on the newer 3500 HD packages?? My 99 had only about a 1/2" bump pad...

Looks to me like the Max Tow gets some BA stops for the overloads... Hmm, I want some...

Looks like you already have the stable loads. Best thing ever for the slide in camper. These worked better than the stiffest sway bar on my 05 Dually I used to have when I was hauling the biggest article fox camper you could buy. When I put the 19. 5" rims on it was the ultimate... .

My 2012 Max Tow came with the flat factory bumps stops. I changed them out to the Energy Suspension bump stops, I think they were 21/2". Kept the truck from sinking as far and a much improved ride with the fiver on.

At the suggestion of another TDR member, I too installed Energy Suspension Bump Stops which was long before Torklift Stableloads came on the market. The taller bump stops along with a Hellwig anti-sway bar were the two most effective suspension modifications I have done on my truck for hauling my Lance camper.

I would think that really long bump stops would make the ride really stiff all of the time as it would not allow the leaf springs to work much. When I put artic fox 1150 on my 05 Dually stock it was almost on the overloads. Every time I hit a bump the overloads kicked in suddenly which made for a rough ride and swaying back and forth even with the sway bar. Once the Torklift stable load blocks were added the overloads were engaged the whole time and smoothed out everything.

The taller bump stops are a long way from the auxiliary spring pack when the truck is unloaded and don't contact the auxiliary springs. However, when loaded my truck is similar to yours. The auxiliary springs were less than an inch from the factory bump stops and every time the rear axle hit a bump, it bounced the rear of the truck. With taller bump stops, they engage the auxiliary springs all the time and no more bouncing the rear of the truck. Engaging the much stiffer auxiliary springs also gives more stability which limits sway when hauling a heavy high center of gravity load i. e. large slide-in truck campers.

I ordered the truck from the factory (Mexico) and it was delivered October of 2011. I ordered the snowplow pkg, max tow pkg, in the Laramie option

Wow, that is crazy. I just looked at the leaf spring pack on a 2013 DRW with the max tow and it does not have the thicker stableload.
