i just installed my stacks and have a few questions to the guys who have them, do u put a flex pipe? or just mount solid? got a vibration when in gear at a stop that im trying to get rid of. and looking for a muffler, but all i can do is a 9" round and no longer that a 23" body, with 4" in and out. any ideas? i love the look and its a head turner, i just want someting to take the edge off the exhaust note. i found one at napa which is 9" round and a 20" body for $75. 00. is it worth it?

I do use a flex pipe in mine. About 18 inches worth right off the bottom of the elbow from the bed. As far as the exhaust note I haven't tried a muffler yet even though I have one sitting in my garage, guess I'm just used to the noise, plus I don't drive it everyday so when I do get in it I want to hear it.

i did come measuring tonight and i found out i cant run a 9" dia. body muffler. too close to the frame. i may have to try the flex pipe. u said 18". and u dont have any noise resinance at idle? mines a auto, so there's a little load on the engine.

I used a Stryker spark arrestor on my '89 truck as a muffler. Those dimensions sound about right. Find a diesel shop and ask them about this.

what is the diff between a muffler and a spark arrestor? i need like a 20" long body and 8" or less in diam. body.
