Well I have decided to loose the cap and put some stacks on the big green beast. I have a couple of questions first. What am I going to do about emisions  ? Am I going to have to put my cat/resinator back on??? Second will I have to put a muffler on them(I really don't want to :)). I think i am going to do what Oasis did with his stacks. Have the soft top tannu (sp?) cover and cut the holes in it so my bed is still covered. I am looking at doing 5" mittered pipes. Any additional advice would be great.

Thanks

Tony

Cliff has one sweet set up and is a hell of a nice guy as well. I can't answer your question on the cat, my best guess would be that it should be installed if you want to follow the EPA regs. , but who does ? As to the muffler, best bet is YOU be the judge. I only have a single stack (straight, no muffy or resonater) and it is LOUD with a capital L. I like it and that's all that matters to me. You will draw many looks, not always good, from a straight pipe. Most people love the way it sounds, some, especially the older folks, don't like it one bit. I don't take my truck to the State inspection centers and we don't have emission tests for diesel pick ups here in NJ.

The only reason i ask about the cat is cuz if we do not pass our emisions testing up here (every 2 years) we can not get out licence plates. I didn't know if any one knew if you had to have the cat on to pass. The noies I could care less about duel stacks straight pipe. :D I had one idea about the cat was to take and gut the thing or take the shroud of the cat and just put it on the exhaust and make it appeir that it is their. Thanks Any other suggestions?

Well i made a phone call to e-check. The lady told me that i can do what ever i want to the exhaust as long as it has a cat. So in Diesel terms it says that the stacks are going on and the cat is either going to go on origional or it is getting gutted. Let the smoke roll!!!:D  Oo.
